OUTFIT OF A SUNNY ROSE.Today, when Rose Mercer had awoken, it was without the wave of nausea she had come to expect. In fact, as the yellow, morning, sunlight peered through her window, Rose felt... better than she had since she became pregnant. It was a rather strange feeling. Maybe this was that glow everyone had been going on about? It didn't exactly feel 'glowy', but it did feel... nice. It was warm and sweet. Almost whimsical. Getting out of bed slowly, Rose was quite thrilled that she didn't have to run straight to the bathroom to vomit. Slowly, she headed that way, starting the shower. While she waited for the water to heat up, Rose stripped down, the mirror catching her pregnant frame. It was becoming quite a bit noticeable. Hovering in her second trimester, there was no more hiding that she was pregnant. Of course, it was rather nice that she was looking pregnant now, and not just like she had been gaining weight. It actually looked rather funny... Her arms were still thin and stringy, her legs were still straight and lean. Her butt had gotten a little plumper, but she wasn't sure if that was a good thing or a bad one. Her breast had gotten bigger too, which was a bit irritating as it made her army of bra's basically useless. She had bought three new ones though, so it wasn't that she was without. The most noticeable of all of these growth was, obviously, the pot belly that had formed. It was without stretch marks, as Rose had been a diligent applier of coco butter, despite loathing the smell. It had actually prompted one of the little bits nicknames. Coco. Whenever she'd put it on, one or both started to dance around happily in her. It was a strange feeling, having two little people raving inside your gut. The other, she had named, Poncho. Mostly as it was a joke that she'd be hiding in ponchos soon. Poncho and Coco. Her and Guillermo hadn't really discussed names yet. In fact, Rose hadn't really thought about it. As she let it wash over her, Rose decided she wanted Fernando's name incorporated in there somewhere. The Grandfather the Poncho and Coco should have had. But then again, Guillermo's Dad's name was a grand contender. Instantly, Rose decided to ask Guillermo what he thought of Enrique and Fernando as names, if the babes turned out to be twin boys. Stepping into the shower, she cleaned up quickly, scrubbing her hair. The active little bits bounced happily in the warmth. Or maybe she was assuming they were happy. After all, how would she really know whether a movement was happy or irritable. Were they even old enough to process emotions like that yet? Stepping out, Rose went to her closet. Scanning through, she saw a soft yellow kaftan. It had been bought ages ago, forgotten in her sea of a closet. But it's cut... it wouldn't hide the pregnancy. It'd display it. Shrugging, she dried off, and dressed herself in it. It actually felt nice, the flowy fabric in the thick near September air. She finished getting dressed, and flitted out to the kitchen, unable to shake the air of cheer around her. Elsewhere, in the corner of her brain, she felt Bruja's irritation at this sunny disposition. Picking through a basket of nailpolish, she pulled out a bottle of soft yellow, and her nail file. Rose's stomach growled. Chili and mikshake. Oh, God, how she wanted some chili and a milkshake. Grabbing her cell phone, Rose pulled up Guillermo's number. Texting with an impressive speed, she sent her love a message. Hey, you should come over with some chili and milkshakes for lunch. Poncho and Coco are hungry. Te amo, te amo, te amo. xoxo. Satisfied, she grinned, and began the process of shaping her nails.

Guillermo had fallen asleep on the couch last night. Usually, this was normal, as Jeny stayed in his room. But last night, he had fallen asleep while studying. He never did much studying and he got along quite well despite this. After feeling a bit guilty, he opened up his books to find that he was farther behind than he had estimated. Guillermo's 'Origin of Language' class was much more irritating than he'd imagined. He woke up to his cell phone vibrating violently. He sighed and closed his book that still laid open on his chest, praying that he would be able to tell the difference between articulatory, acoustic, and auditory phonetics later in the day. Guillermo looked at his phone tiredly. Hey, you should come over with some chili and milkshakes for lunch. Poncho and Coco are hungry. Te amo, te amo, te amo. xoxo. Ahh.. Rose. Wait.. it was lunchtime? He rubbed his eyes, groaning, and went to take a quick shower. When he had finished, he got dressed in clean clothes that did not smell like he had fallen asleep on his grimy couch. He gathered some ingredients and went over to Rose's. He went right in and gave her a sleepy smile, his wet hair dripping over his face. He carried the food supplies into the kitchen and proceeded to mix beans and meat and spices in a pot. awww

He was prompter than she had expected. Rose looked up, her sharp, blue, eyes smiling back at his sleepy grin. Had he missed class? The one he had to study for last night, and hence not sleep over. After all, Rose could be quite the little distraction when it came to studying. When it came to education, Rose honestly possessed little to know attention span. She would always get distracted by little things.
The way Guillermo's adam's apples bounced on his throat when he read, as he tended to mutter the words he was reading.
Or how he had oddly long, sexy, fingers.
Or the way his hair fell into his brown eyes when he was trying to ignore the fact that she had tangled her slender fingers in his, and how she was kissing his adam's apple gently.
So, yes. Study time was separated. Which basically meant Rose almost never did.
Following him to the kitchen, Rose wrapped her arms around him as he began to prepare food. "I had thought you were out and about. I didn't mean for you too come and be my personal chef." Grinning, she kissed his shoulder blade gently. "Not that I'm complaining."
She always felt so warm when Guillermo was around. It always started right in her belly, right where the twins housed at the moment. And it would spread throughout her, like warm water. Filling every part of her. And her happiness caused the babies to stir, especially when Guillermo spoke. They liked his voice, she thought.
Her happiness felt... foreign. But good. Great even. It was just unfamiliar, and alien. It made her feel like everything was going to be great. Her and Guillermo were going to be good parents. That they would succeed where their parents failed, and proceed where they succeeded. One of the babies, Coco probably, as Rose always seemed to blame that one, kicked her sharply in the ribs in it's excitement. Wincing, she touched her side, backing away from Guillermo. Sharply, she poked the little bugger back. "Quit that."
Grinning up at Guillermo, she gave a gentle laugh. "They're excitable, you know? Especially when you get around." Sighing in a dramatic, play-woe-is-me way, she put her hand on her forehead and pouted. "They already like you more. It's hardly fair. You're the the one turning into a respective barn..." Without thinking about it, as she leaned against the counter, Rose rested her hand on her belly, thinking pensively to herself.
Would they like Guillermo more? It would make sense. Hell, even Rose liked Guillermo more. Rose pictured them, ten years down the road, being the dictator, while Guillermo slipped them bites of ice cream. Their faces changed. Boy boy. Girl boy. Girl girl. "Are you in on the bets one what they'll be? Jeny swears they're both girls, Hiro says boys, Stef says healthy because he's lame and doesn't want to pony up ten bucks..." This was all just....
Becoming easy.
For the first time in her life, Rose was filled with an easy happiness. One that took no work at all. It just- It just was.

Rose hugged him from behind and the feeling of her rounded belly made him smile. "I had thought you were out and about. I didn't mean for you too come and be my personal chef. Not that I'm complaining." He felt her kiss his shoulder and he turned his head a little to smile at her. "I fell asleep while reading about the wonderful world of phonetics. Looks like I overslept pretty bad." She winced lightly and her gaze fell to her stomach. Poking her side, she scolded gently. "Quit that." Rose looked up at him. "They're excitable, you know? Especially when you get around. They already like you more. It's hardly fair. You're the the one turning into a respective barn..." Guillermo chuckled. She was really thinking about this. He was sure the kids would like Rose the most. He would be the overbearing parent. Rose looked thoughtful as she spoke. "Areyou in on the bets one what they'll be? Jeny swears they're both girls, Hiro says boys, Stef says healthy because he's lame and doesn't want to pony up ten bucks..." Guillermo gave her a crooked grin and knelt, very gently pressing one ear to her stomach. It was entirely strange but awesome to hear movement there. He looked up at her and kissed her belly. "Well.. I'm not sure. I think I might be horrified to have two sons, because they might turn out to be like me. Which might kill us. And I would be equally terrified to have two daughters. But from how active these niños are, I might say we've got one of each. A strong, but silent chico and a little hot-tempered chica."

Originally, Rose had shied away from attention being paid to the region around her abdomen. It wasn't that she felt no happiness for Coco and Poncho. In fact, there was a piece of her that was curious, excited, fearful, so on and so on. But, as this started to be accepted, things eased for Rose, they eased. Right now, watching Guillermo, it was rather precious.
Running her fingers through his hair, she smiled down at him. "You've given this a bit of thought, haven't you?" She smiled, her mind picturing the children that Guillermo described. Though a small frown creased her, as his words processed. "What would be so wrong with them being like you?" There was no accusation to her voice, but a gentle dissatisfaction with his words.
Why did Guillermo hate Guillermo so much?
"We need to start thinking of names." She said, still letting his hair feather around her fingers carefully. Rose wasn't sure how to bring up the name possibility of Enrique. Whenever his Father was brought up, Guillermo got a distant look of sadness about him. Guilt and self anger. On one hand, Rose wondered if Guillermo would take it as a way of redeeming himself in the eyes of his passed on Father. On the other, she wondered if it would only serve Guillermo to keep on his path of self loathing.
Men were strange creatures.
Though Rose wasn't much better. After all, here she was, standing like a dip, wondering how to bring up to her boy friend that she wants to named on of their possible boys Enrique. Tact had never really been her area of expertise. "I'm really not sure about a girls name. I want it to be more original than Maria, but I don't want a kid running around being call LaFonda." She said, going to the refrigerator, grabbing some milk and chocolate ice cream. "Jeny keeps hinting that she wouldn't mind her name being tossed in."
Rolling her eyes, Rose scooped lumps of the ice cream into her blender. "But, for a boy, I was thinking... Well, I've always really liked the name Fernando. There's sometime quite... savy about it. But I also like the name Enrique, so I don't know." There was a false casualness to her voice, as she poured the milk in, and started the blender.
Smooth Rose, real smooth.
From behind the veil of her hair, she waited for a response, feeling the babes flutter in her gut in anticipation.

Rose ran her fingers through his dark hair and he closed his eyes, sighing. "You've given this a bit of thought, haven't you?" She frowned lightly, peering down at him. "What would be so wrong with them being like you?" Guillermo gave a small smile. "In short, I was a wild child. Gave my dad a run for his money. I wasn't the most polite or calm kid." "We need to start thinking of names. I'm really not sure about a girls name. I want it to be more original than Maria, but I don't want a kid running around being call LaFonda." Guillermo got up as Rose crossed to the refrigerator, grabbing some milk and chocolate ice cream. He chuckled. "Good, because I'd never put a kid through a name like LaFonda. If you're wanting to go the Spanish route, you should pick a name that means something to you." "Jeny keeps hinting that she wouldn't mind her name being tossed in." Rose rolled her eyes and he grinned. "If Jenyfer ruled the world, every kid would be named after her." Guillermo looked at Rose as she seemed to think on something important. "But, for a boy, I was thinking... Well, I've always really liked the name Fernando. There's sometime quite... savy about it. But I also like the name Enrique, so I don't know." Guillermo reached into the fridge for something to do and grabbed a coke can. He looked down at it as he snapped it open. "You.. you would name our son after my dad?" Part of him was touched beyond words but another part sunk in guilt.

His face was exactly how she expected it to be. Far away, as if he was afraid those pesky sad feelings were going to come touch him, and make him uncomfortable. She looked up, examining the tragically thoughtful expression on his face, his brown eyes heavy. Twins, they were having twins. It was almost like God had his own Punk'd show. What if this was all just some weird baby tumor like you see on those health shows. Were they naming Rose's tumors?
No, they were naming Rose and Guillermo's children.
If God had any hand in this, it was that he was sick of watching their tempest of a relationship fluctuate like a noncompliant diabetics blood sugar.
"Yes. I think it's a handsome name. If we do end up having a boy named Enrique, we could call him something... Rico or Enri or something. Ricky." Ricky. She rather liked that. "It means 'home ruler', according to the baby name book. I can't seem to really find a girl name that I really like." She grinned at him, filling the glass with the milkshake. As she took a bite, her hand went to her stomach, feeling the babies flutter about. Yes, certainly not tumors. Tumors don't kick you CONSTANTLY. Poking at the little Salas-Ortiz's, she took a drink of her milk shake, watching Guillermo closely. "Do you have an Aunt or something you're particularly fond of?"
They could name a daughter Dorothy, if only to piss of Bruja. Her mental roomie had become tolerable, but certainly not liked. But Dorothy was such an ugly name. Hell, at this rate, they were really going to have to name this unborn child Jeny.
Watching him, Rose's blue eyes left nothing unturned. He won the battle. He settled the Bruja down. He fought, and fought. True, he was sort of going to kill himself. But not anymore. Guillermo wouldn't ever now, she was sure. Even if they didn't work out, they had children now. He knew what it was like, living with the idea of a parent being gone, of the feeling that a parent didn't love you. He'd never make their children feel like that.
Stepping forward, she flipped the stove off, turning him to face her. The grin on her face was impish, and there was a suggestive quick on her brow. She didn't feel bloated, at the moment. The fact that she had a flesh balloon strapped to her abdomen was barely a thought. Instead, she was filled with a great love for Guillermo. "I'm not hungry for chili anymore." Rose murmured, her blue eyes taking on their hypnotic intensity. Leaning forward, their lips brushed against each other, her stringy arms wrapping around his neck. Grinding, however, was clearly out of the question.
That was awkward.
With a light sigh, she looked down, eyes on the belly. "Do you get the feeling there is something between us?"

I can't seem to really find a girl name that I really like." Rose gave him a smile and he grinned back at her, leaning over to kiss her forehead. "It would really mean a lot to me, if we named our son Enrique.." he told her quietly, going back to cooking. "Do you have an Aunt or something you're particularly fond of?" Guillermo chuckled. "Well, I do like my Tia Susana, but I haven't seen her since I was fourteen. And between you and I, I have no intentions of giving a daughter the first name "Jenyfer." I won't, no matter how much I love my sister." He stirred the chili, thinking. "Do you have any more family on your Mother's side?" Rose turned the dial on the stove and switched it off. She threw him a mischievous grin and his eyebrows flew up. "I'm not hungry for chili anymore," she told him, her arms slinking up to lock around his neck. He kissed her gently, rather liking this very sunny and optimistic Rose. With a light sigh, she looked down, eyes on the belly. "Do you get the feeling there is something between us?" Guillermo let out a deep laugh and hugged Rose. "Ay.. Cariña. I think we will have to get used to that." Kissing her again, Guillermo decided that he would have Rose forever. He was going to spend the rest of his life with her.
