It had been a long day of shopping, gossiping, and laughing. Ronnie despite being worn out and tired of carrying several bags, was not really looking forward going to the dinner he had planned with Thalia, him, and his parents. Why had he even planned it in the first place.
But Ronnie and Thalia were already done shopping and in the building and he was anxiously tapping his foot as they waited for the elevator. He didn't want Thalia to worry that he was nervous about the dinner, but the way he had been chewing on his bottom lip since they entered the building and that he hadn't cracked a joke or smiled since was kind of a sign.
When the elevator doors parted, he walked in full of anxiety. He knew his parents would mess up this dinner some how and ruin his night completely. Pressing the button, he decided to make conversation.
"I hope.. I hope this dinner isn't completely awful." And he just admitted his nervousness, but it didn't matter the night was going to be completely awful and he just decided to warn her before hand. He shuffled through his purse idly and took out a bottle of water and chugged half of it down.
"You'll see why I am so nervous when you meet my parents."

Ronnie cracked a smile at the idea of dinner being nice and his parents being cordial to him and Thalia. Maybe that would happen, maybe tonight would be perfect. But in his gut he knew his parents were going to mess it up. His homophobic, oblivious parents. They were going to mess it up and he knew it.
"When you have parents that are never there, but as well homophobics that like to act oblivious towards there obviously gay son, how would you feel bringing a friend over to dinner?" That was the last thing he said, as the elevator doors parted and he adjusted all his bags and purse. Him being nervous didn't seem to phase him walking down the halls like he owned the place.
He sighed and set down everything as he rummaged for his key in his purse. As he found it, he seemed even less content with the whole situation.
"Be prepared, sweetie. The hawks are going to be around the door in no time." Unlocking the door he faked a smile and singsonged a greeting. And as he predicted his mother and father were greeting him with the same fake smile and sweetness in their voices.
"How was your day, hm? Lots of shopping I see..." His mother's voice was sickly sweet and slowly turned bitter as she finished speaking her words. "And I see you brought a guest!" His mother smiled sweetly and raised her eyebrows waving her hand for Ronnie to move to the side so she could get a better glimpse at Thalia. Ronnie did as told, looking annoyed by the situation in whole.
As his father and mother scanned over Thalia, he got a sick feeling in his stomach and shuffled in his purse yet again for his bottle of water and finished it. They wouldn't ask, they couldn't ask they would be so oblivious and rude to even guess that-
"Are you our Ronald's- I mean Ronnie's girlfriend?" His father spoke the words. Saying Ronnie extremely bitterly. Ronnie thought the was going to be sick on the floor, right there on his mother's suede heels. He'd ruin perfectly good heels for his parents to just accept him.
Ronnie knew tonight was going to be awful, he didn't even speak as his face flushed and his rosy-red cheeks seemed to spread with the frustration that fumed from him.
