Temper: Seth has a fierce, dangerous temper. And this is not a 'yell and cry' temper, oh no, this is a 'beat you within an inch of your life' temper.
Obsessive: He doesn't just like things, or people. He knows what he wants, when he wants it, and will do anything to get it, no matter the consequences.
Jealous: He is not a jealous man, if you ask him. HE JUST DOESN'T LIKE PEOPLE TOUCHING HIS THINGS!!! Things, people, same diff.
Bipolar: He'll be up, anxious, really happy or sad or angry, highly productive, highly sexual for a few days. And then that will past, and he will want to die. Not just a little case of the blues. He will want to die. Luckily, he has medication to even him out. Of course that only works if he would take it.
past
Like his best friend Rose, Seth grew up in an abusive home. It was what bonded the two, actually. Living next door to each other since they were born, Seth always liked Rosie. The two would spend hours on the roof of their apartment building, hiding from their Father's, in their own little world. It was perfect.
And then puberty hit, and things got weird. Rose was beautiful, and other boys new it, much to the seething hatred of Seth. But Rose saw him 'as just a brother', and let the other boys chase her. It stirred a violence in Seth, who was already showing signs of having his Mother's bipolar disorder. He kept it hidden from Rose, but would often engage in fighting and drugs when she wasn't looking.
Eventually Seth's scant love ran out, and he was sent to Juvenile Hall for six years, after stealing a car. He wrote Rose everyday, even though her letters came less frequently. That was fine, most days. Other's it was the most crushing thing in the world to Seth. It was not uncommon for him to be put on suicide watch when these feelings would arise.

Eventually, Seth finished his sentence. Nineteen and drunk with his new freedom, he sees (at the moment) an endless amounts of possibilities. Most of these involve Rose. Some involve school, or various jobs he could do. With his old cadillac, his first action after release was to go and visit Rose.
He went to her parents house, who explained that she had moved out when she was eighteen. He then tried the Auto Shop, where one of her co-workers told him where she could be found. That's his next stop.

Apparently as revenge, the Nome King enjoys keeping surface-dwellers as slaves—not for their labor but simply to have them. Although the Wicked Witch of the West is the most famous of Oz's villains (thanks to the popular 1939 film The Wizard of Oz), the Nome King is the closest the book series has to a main antagonist.

He stared at her picture, which hung on the driver's side visor of his old caddy. God she was beautiful. Those eyes, the freckles, that smile. Perfect. And now that they were older, she'd realize that he was perfect for her. He was positive. Hadn't she ended all of her letters with: Love Rose? Sometimes even with X's and O's.
He rang the buzzer of her apartment, becoming more and more anxious as he got no answer. Was she alright? Could she be hurt? Lighting up the self-rolled cigarette, he looked up, trying to guess which of the windows was hers. Wouldn't it be romantic? Him climbing up her window, surprising her? Yes, she did love surprises! But what if he picked the wrong room? That could be bad? It's not like he could win her back if he got locked up again.
What to do...
An older woman exited the building, her arms full of bags. Taking his chance, Seth rushed to the door, holding it open like a gentlemen. The woman smiled, thanked him, and waddled away, leaving a thick smell of old perfume and cats behind her. Entering the building, he went up to Rose's door, listening closely. No lights on, no sound coming from within. She must be out. Leaning against the door, he waited, imagining her face when she saw him waiting here for her.
