Jealous:: Rosaline hates to be one up'd by anyone. She wants to be the prettiest and most intriguing thing women in the entire room. This makes her unpopular with most other girls, so her friendships lie in more with the male aspect of her species. And even those friendships are fleeting.
Skeptical:: If Rosaline can't see it, she doesn't think it's real. That goes for God, Love, and Oxygen (okay, not Oxygen, but you get the point).
Manipulative:: Rosaline is a girl who knows what she wants. And she will get it, or people will pay.
Sad:: Rosaline longs for someone to get her, but her guard is so high up that she often sabotages good relationships. Or her jealousy gets the better of her. But truly, she wants something deep down, even if she won't admit it out loud.
past
Rosaline is the daughter of a Brooklyn native named Jimmy Mercer, and a Colombian immigrant named Maria Juarez. She grew up poor, with an incredible love of all things shiny, envying those with fine things greatly. She was a sickly kid, under a great deal of stress due to her fiend Father. He was a drunk who liked to use the belt a great deal. Her Mother would try to curb his attention, but it was to little promise.
She tried to stay out of the house as much as possible, but was unpopular with kids her own age. She would spend a lot of time at the local garage, where she watched her Uncle Fernando work on cars. As she got older she began to help, putting all her anger into a passion for auto repair.
Not to say that she didn't have a girly side. Rosaline loves pretty cloths and fine jewelry, saving up her money and splurging it on nice things. At times she use up all of her money, and her Uncle will come in and rescue her from say: homelessness or starvation.

As of late she works at her Uncles Auto shop, and is failing out of College steadily. She moved out of her parent's house as soon as she turned 18 and doesn't visit them often. There really isn't a great deal going on in her life.

book title The Wonderful Wizard of Oz
backstory In The Wonderful Wizard of Oz (the first of many Oz books), Dorothy Gale is blown into Oz by a tornado. The young girl's house lands on top of The Witch. The Witch, who had been ruling over the Munchkins, is killed instantly with only her feet sticking out from under the house. The Witch was wearing magical shoes (made of silver) at the time of her death. Dorothy, on the advice of The Good Witch of the North, takes the shoes. These shoes have the power to transport anyone anywhere, simply by knocking the heels together three times and giving them the command where to go. Not knowing this, Dorothy travels to see the famous ruler of the Emerald City, The Wizard, to ask for his help in trying to return to her Kansas farm. In the novel, The Wicked Witch of the East is also responsible for the creation of the Tin Woodman and, in flashbacks in The Tin Woodman of Oz, the Tin Soldier, who each had their blades enchanted to prevent them from marrying the Witch's maid.
