distinctive traits Her outside appearance and sometimes her mannerisms really don't match how she is on the inside. Seriously. Also, she has tattoos all over her arm.
...personal*
personality When you first see Phoebe, you probably think that she's just your average sterotyped goth. Depressing, dark, anti-social, and overall not that nice of a person. Which was her goal, to get people to judge her. Why? Well, it's complicated, but she thinks less people would automatically take advantage of her if she didn't come off as the was she is. Plus, she loved that style even before Grandmother came around.
Anyways, in reality, she's a total sweetheart. Phoebe would likely never hurt a fly. Her personal goal in life is to be there for people. A shoulder to cry on, someone who can bake comfort food to perfection, one of those people you can tell anything to, and one who always takes your side (which doesn't always work out when two of her friends is fighting, but she's good at compromising). The family figure normally associated with this personality frame is a grandmother, and that's exactly it. She's always loved both her grammas and aspired to be like them, so here she is. Yes, for those brave enough to look past the exterior, a rather old interior can be found. Phoebe is full of unconditional love for those who love her, and even some who don't.
Now, that's not to say she doesn't ever get angry and whatnot; that's ridiculous to think. Usually she voices her opinion on things, and sometimes those opinions are negative. You're being disrespectful? She'll let you know. You're not acting right in public? She'll call you out on it. Not finishing your plate?SHE WILL FORCE THE FUCKING FOOD DOWN YOUR THROAT"Could you just eat a little more, please?" Not everyone had a positive reaction to her, though, when she acts like this, assuming she has authority. "I'm sorry, who the fuck are you to tell me how to act?"
past Phoebe's past was not that horrific, or wonderful, or really interesting at all. In fact, it was a little boring. Not that she isn't grateful for having nice parents, of course, since some people close to her didn't have that luxury so much. But oh well. Her parents met at her mother's work. She was the business manager of a bakery at the time, and her father was one of their best customers (I wonder why?) and it was obvious that they liked each other from the beginning.
After they were married and Phoebe Marjorie was born, they spent five years in California before moving to New York. Her father's work called them there. Phoebe didn't really get to know her only cousin on her mom's side, or really any of the family on her mom's side at all, apart from Gramma Jen. Sometimes her and Liam visited her on the same weekend, but it wasn't often and Phoebe doesn't remember it very well. She doesn't remember much of Califonia at all, these days.
In elementary school, the Quinns had a German Shepard named Sheppa, because Phoebe got to choose the name. Sweetest dog ever, right? But once, in third grade, Phoebe's parents were upstairs really quick and she was playing in the play room. Someone dressed in all black came through the door quietly, since someone had forgotten to lock it. Phoebe went to see who it was, and saw Sheppa attack the stranger and nearly kill him before her parents got downstairs. Later they found out that he intended to hold Phoebe for ransom. But it pretty much ended the whole 'dog' concept for her, no matter what the man's intentions were. The only person she had to comfort her then while her parents were talking to the police was an old woman who was familiar, but Phoebe had never actually known her in real life, only fairy tales. From then on, Grandmother's been there when Phoebe's needed her.
When middle school rolled around, she was that really sweet girl that still had her virginity and never went to parties or cussed or anything, because that's how she was raised. A lot of people took advantage of her because she was just... easily taken advantage of. If it wasn't something she was morally incapable of, she would do it for her 'friends'. But eventually, she started to notice, and hated it. Eventually, she was told it was because of how she looked. So that was what she worked on.
When freshman year at Baum Academy began, it was like she was a whole different person on the outside. She turned her style into a dark, 'gothic' style, with black clothes and studs and all kind of Hot Topic and all things like that. People from middle school didn't believe it was really her. Instead of taking advantage of her, they backed off, and she was left with only a few really good friends instead of a bunch of lazy motherfuckers who didn't care about her. One of those friends being her cousin Liam, since he moved to New York City with Gramma Jen. Jamie followed a few years after.
As this stage progressed, she found out that she loved cooking, baking especially. How? Well, everyone saw foods classes as easy, so she took a few and fell in love.
present Phoebe graduated with good grades and a scholarship to Barrie University. Her freshman year was spent trying to decide what she would major in. It was difficult because she didn't just want to major in culinary arts because she could already cook. Once she decided on what she was gonna do with her life, though, she knew what to do. Thinking it would look good to potential investors, she double-majored in Culinary Arts and Buisness Management, and that decision remains standing.
Because her dream is to open a bakery, maybe with Gramma Jen's help and some of her recipes, since she was such a good cook. Now, she knows she'll be competing with Gingey's, but honestly hers is going to be a small corner shop with more of a family-oriented atmoshpere, hopefully, and she hopes that will attract more customers. Though that's for after she graduates; now she has to focus on getting her degrees, staying a good cook, and being the grandmotherly lady she is.

likes
- Cats. She's always liked them better than dogs, for some reason. Cats are less crazy and bothersome.
- Singing. Just a hobby, not really her passion in life, considering she doesn't do it in front of people intentionally. She'll hum a tune while she's baking, but that's all.
- Baking. This, this is her passion. She's always been good at it, it seems. She's gotten a lot of comments such as "These taste just like my grandmother's cookies!"
- Sewing. Just another hobby. What else is there to do when her homework is finished and there's pastries in the oven?
- Being called Gramma. Normally people would see this as offensive, but she tolerates, even encourages it. Grandmothers are often seen as kind and caring and someone you could go to when you need something, which is what she is.
dislikes
- Dogs. Ehh, they always seemed too crazy and up-in-your-face for Phoebe. She prefers the laid-back and near effortless care for cats.
- The smell of burnt food. That's practically the scent of failure as a human being to her.
- Obviously, burning food. Yeah, not fun. Not just the clean up, but knowing that she failed at the thing she normally does best. It doesn't happen often.
- Old couples. Not that she dislikes them really! She just doesn't like the way they make her feel. Like, seeing an old couple holding hands and sitting on a park bench makes her heart ache a little, like she's missing something.
- Teenagers. She doesn't exactly like dealing with rowdy/disrepectful young people becauseteenagers scare the living shit out of hershe doesn't react well and it makes her lose her cool.
- Losing her cool. Normally, she's a nice girl, but when people start taking advantage of her and she realizes it, she'll get mad. Like, reeeally mad. Scream and everything. Afterwards she'll apologize for being so angry, of course.
