personality
Connor had always been… different. Uniquely different, but to everyone else he was strange… Abnormal. He was looked down and frowned at because of his problem. Aside from his physical ‘defect,’ he had a strange quirk to talk to two identical young boys dressed in raccoon outfits. It started before he could recall, but those two boys shaped his life.
Connor has always had those two boys helping him through the times that he needed friends. He can be described as being a bit of a daydreamer. He would much rather spend the day outside instead of cooped up in a classroom. Stemmed from his daydreaming, Connor has an active imagination that is muse to his paintings, drawings, and sculptures. He has a deep passion for art whether it is capture on film or painted on a canvas. He is an artist through and through. He gathers muse from the twins who occupy many of his artworks. As a child they expressed to him the deep fantasy world that was Neverland. Connor feels the most himself when he is completely absorbed in his work.
Added into the whole artist aspect, Connor is free-spirited and spontaneous. He acts on how he feels and relies heavily on how the moment would best be averted from ‘dangerous’ to joyous. He is kind-hearted and has a deep rooted love for animals. From the cockroaches to the blue whales. This adoration of all animals is majorly stemmed from The Twins and their childish outlooks on life. They say that no animal can be deemed ‘good’ or ‘bad’ because they are all pure. They act on instinct and some instincts tell the animals to lash out. So the twins also see humans simply as ‘wrong-doers’ or simply sinners. Connor’s outlook on other humans is the same because he can never purposely find the flaws of his fellow man. He gives everyone the benefit of the doubt, until they do something negative or positive to him. He isn’t shut off to other humans, but he can be labeled shy.
Now, Connor has his… flaws because of the Twins. They have caused him to be a bit neurotic. Simply in the sense that he worries about little things and constantly second guesses his decisions because they give him their input. However, they all have different personalities in a few senses, so it leaves him a bit scattered brained and anxious. Now, he isn’t bad enough to cause him to not be able to function, but he seems to take longer than usual on mundane tasks or choices. Such as, Ham and Cheese, Turkey and Cheese, or Peanut Butter and Jelly for lunch. In the end, he’d make all three, slice them in half, and toss the other halves away. The end result is that every party is satisfied, but he has wasted an extra five or so minutes. It’s more a minor inconvenience, but others see it as… abnormal and weird.
All in all, Connor is a pretty normal seventeen year old, but he can be a bit childish. The Twins don’t really mess with his mind anymore because he has learned that he can shut them up for hours at a time, but he gets a major migraine after their ‘returns.’ The Twins are more like small apparitions that dance and play around Connor. He now sees them as little brothers that he occasionally has to fuss at, but the loves them none the less. As of late though, they have been pretty persistent on finding Peter Pan, their fearless leader.
past
Stanley Callel had always held a one track mind that led him straight to the top, even when he wasn’t qualified to be there. He was a man of action, but he was just as resourceful with his words as he was his investments. He could smooth talk himself out of any situation that deemed… unsatisfactory. Such as haggling for a better deal on shipments. His father was a powerful man who relied heavily on making decisions that brought positive changes to his family. He held a deep work ethic and believed that one needs to learn a trade that helped to carry a family. His mother, Amy Renee Callel, was similar to his father in the aspect of work before play, but she held a deep passion for art. More leaning towards the art of dance and music. She believed that abstract art that included things such as painting, drawing, and such were easily learned. Her respect for them seemed to far less than that of lyrical and dance art forms. Connor’s father was a professional hacker for the government. The technical terminology for his career is far too complex for Connor to attempt to try and remember. His mother was originally an assistant principle at the elementary school back in Minnesota, but now is a stay at home mom. Now, she leaned towards more of a stay out late and sleep till noon mom, but to each their own.
The move to New York City happened when he around five years old which made his brother ten years old. It always seemed to be the older children that acted out and got pissed at the parents. Blaming and accusing them of allowing them to lose the countless friends and memories that they had made over the years. Connor's brother wasn't one to whine and complain even at his young tender age because their father does not approve of whiners. His father only apologized for the inconvenience and that was the end of the conversation. Nothing more was needed to be said because no one questioned their father. Except their mother. She seemed to enjoy testing their father, but he took her questionings with a playful smile. He truly loved their mother, so when she told him to jump, he'd jump. The move to New York City was quick and seemingly effortless, because the family barely had to do anything. Specifications concerning the large condo that felt like a house, were already set, so they needed to only bring their personal items and their bodies.
For five years the Callel's lived happily, but one small lapse of judgment turned the tables and threw them all into a life of havoc.
Connor's mother took to the bottle since her time no longer was occupied by a school district or dance studio. She hit alcoholic in a span of three years, then for two years she lived in secret. Leaving in the middle of the night to go out with her young friends, only to pass out on the couch. His father simply stripped her and put her back to bed and never spoke a negative word about her. Never threatened her with leaving. His love blinded him from the truth. The musky scent of another male. The endless stream of phone calls in the late afternoon. She was cheating and he was bleeding. He became distant and cold, but only to Connor's mother.
During this time, Connor's talent with art started to flourish. By the time he was ten, he had large canvases entered into art contest around the community. However, his home life reflected from his works. His usual bright colors and hues turned to darker and more menacing colors. His strokes became heavy and the scenes depicted were that of eerie settings. He escaped his reality be painting, but his reality haunted him even in his paintings. But, he quit painting all together when the divorce came.
The divorce was one of the darkest times in the Callel's lifetime because everyone was broken. Connor's brother's grades started slipping and he became more hostile and aggressive. He took his pain, sadness, and anger out on his fellow classmates and eventually was forced to be shipped to a military school in the South. His mother, the one to call for the divorce, left without a word and ended up married again to a younger beau who offered her youthful sex, which compensated for his lack of financial standings. Connor hit an wall that left him muse-less and caused the Twins to become realities again. They became his escape and replaced his muse with their talk of a fantasy land that existed in a distant place. Connor's father was the most devastated and was left with a broken heart and a lump of frigid cold to replace it.
As Connor's muse slowly returned over the span of six years, his father only grew more rigid and strict. He never hit Connor, but he never showed much appreciation for his son. He'd force himself to go to art galleries which Connor's work was displayed, but he'd never actually be there. He'd show up, but he'd leave after a matter of thirty minutes. Connor did his part in keeping his grades up and keeping a positive outlook on life, but he could never fill the hole in his father's chest. Connor sticks to his art room and only leaves when completely necessary. They live under the same roof, but lead separate lives.
present
Now, Connor and the Twins live life as if nothing is abnormal about him sharing body with two other minds. They never try to forcibly gain control, but Connor knows how to completely shut them out. He creates arts and works on larger scales and stretches his mediums. Canvas and watercolor paints are still his favorite, but he has been swaying toward 3-D artworks, like sculptures. His main project is life-sized replicas of the Twins, since they helped return his muse. Most of his artworks are of Neverland with hidden twists. He has created a portfolio of portraits ranging from Peter Pan to Tinkerbell to Captain Hook. Each are done from the Twins describing them in depth and their works completely form the image while Connor makes them solid.
Connor maintains his grabs in school, but he still has a hard time adjusting to making friends. He doesn't trust people enough to let them in, but he isn't isolated and a loner. He finds that the joy that creating art brings can't be matched by some friendship... but he could be sadly mistaken.
Him and his brother keep in touch by letters. In the next few months his brother will be returning to New York City to simply collect his savings money. Whether he stays or leaves is solely up to how their father acts. Connor has shut his mother out and they no longer try to speak. He loathes what she did and he wishes her new family a happy life.
