Bossy: Candace is always telling people what to do. She doesn’t always mean to—sometimes things just slip out in a very bossy manner. But she does like the feel of the power when people do what she says. There’s just something about it that gives her satisfaction. Her mother had always been very bossy, “No don’t do that.” “No, do it like this!” “Why can’t you just do it how I tell you to?” etc. It rubbed off on Candace, and she often times finds herself saying some of those exact same phrases.
Intimidating: Because of her bossy, sly, get what I want nature, people are often intimidated by her. She looks a lot sweeter than she actually is. But being in a family where you could do almost nothing growing up, made her do everything she could to get to where she is now. Now she can do anything she wants. Now there’s nobody telling her that she’s doing it wrong or it’s too dangerous for her. Now she can stomp on all the little people to get what she wants.
Motherly: Believe it or not, Candace has a very motherly nature under all of her scary mean lady demeanor. But, she didn’t used to be that way. It changed when something very big happened to her—she got pregnant. And with twins, of all things! The moment she saw her babies in her first ultrasound, she fell in love. Those were her babies. Those were little pieces of her, and Lachlan. Candace was actually a little bit excited to be a mother.

Candace was born in the small city of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Her parents had grown up here, and their parents, and theirs before, and so on. Most of her family had grown up and lived in Fort Wayne their entire lives. And Candace wanted out as soon as she was old enough to realize that her family was stuck. She wanted something bigger—something better. Life in Indiana was boring. If you decided to leave Fort Wayne, unless you were going to Indy, your options were: corn, corn, and…corn. There was nothing to see, nowhere to go. Candace was determined not to be ‘stuck’ like the rest of her family.
As a child, her mother was one of those overly-clingy, anxious mothers, always keeping Candace from doing anything fun. “Oh no! You’ll get sick!” or “Don’t touch that! It’s dirty!” It drove her nuts, and she did everything to get away from her mother as much as she could. She would often just hide herself in her room, or trick her dad into letting her stay at a friend’s house—when she actually had friends. Their parents were actually cool. They didn’t worry about Candace getting sick from touching something ‘dirty’. They didn’t hover over the girls for every. Single. Thing. Yes, they had rules, but to Candace, it was like there were none.
As she got older, she did everything she could to rebel. Most of her rebelliousness involved someone of the opposite sex, which really put her mom into a spazz. Her crazy behavior wound up giving her a few pregnancy scares, and a miscarriage. Soon after she lost the baby (right after her graduation), she packed up and left, without a goodbye to anyone. She just left, with a small note telling everyone that she was moving on the bigger and better things, AKA New York City. She wanted to start a bigger and better life for herself. She also wanted to forget. While she would never tell anybody, she was devastated when she had her miscarriage. Not only was it painful, but she lost the (what she was sure was going to be beautiful) baby that she and her then boyfriend had created. She had even left without a word to him.

Candace is currently working for Rhys as his personal assistant. She managed to advance herself quickly. Waiting around and hoping to get promotions over time was nothing something she was willing to do. She started out at the bottom—in the mail room, like everybody else. But she worked her ass off to get herself to the highest position (besides Rhys’ of course) in the business. Because of her success, many people in the business do not like her; she had walked all over them to get as high of a position as she could. And they really didn’t like just how bossy she could it. She was always bossing them around, and often times, micro managing to be sure that everything was done ‘correctly’. But it wasn’t her fault that they were lazy and unwilling to work as hard as she.
Work was a huge part of her life, and it keeps her really busy, but she still manages to find time to go out and find herself some meat, if you know what I mean. There is no better way to relax after a stressful day at work than to go out and have some fun, sexy time with a man. But then again, that fun sexy time was what got her pregnant, and with twins! While she was excited to have her children, at the same time she was terrified. What if she doesn’t get the support she needs from Lachlan? What if she’s a bad mother? What if, what if?

Okay so yeah. The stork is and old fairy tale about how a stork brings people babies. That’s really all there is to it. Often people tell this to their children when they don’t think they are old enough, or mature enough, to understand sex. So. Ask a little kid where babies come from. I’m sure you’ll get “the stork brings them” from at least on kid. Yup.
