Well, after that…book incident, Mikael had offered to help Edward get over his fear of birds. They had been making some pretty decent progress, actually. Much to the help of Edgar. Mikael turned his head to brush his cheek against the silky black feathers of the bird on his shoulder. Edgar had a strange liking to Edward, and it almost translated into Mikael. Mikael felt a strange warm feeling in his chest whenever Edward mustered the courage to pet the large raven. He couldn’t help but smile each time the bird cooed at him. Mikael was actually on his way to Edwards unexpectedly, ready to surprise his new friend. Mikael hadn’t actually had friends before. It changed him a little. Maybe it was the new friendship, or maybe it was Edward, but there was a slight bounce to Mikael’s step.
He walked right into Barrie University, heading up towards the dorms. Today Mikael didn’t take the girl routine as far as he usually did. Actually, all of his clothes save the leather jacket had been found in the men’s section. Tight black jeans, and beneath his jacket was a black tanktop. His blonde hair was loose and straight down his shoulders. His face was void of makeup; and even without such—he was still extremely striking. Edgar took off his shoulders and fluttered to the top of the stairs while Mikael took two steps at a time. He couldn’t stop the growing smile on his face after each step. He felt breathless that had nothing to do with the steps. Without pausing, he headed down the hall; Edgar fluttering back to Mikael’s shoulder.
His lips mouthed the numbers until he came to Edward’s place, and a bright grin spread onto his face while he rapped on the door. He took a step backwards, rocking back and forth on his heels—only to get an irritated sound out of his bird. “Oh, sorry.” [/color] Mikael whispered to his companion quietly, making himself hold still while he stroked the feathers. The teenager wasn’t entirely sure why he was so excited to see Edward; but it was getting progressively worse each time he saw the other. It was a different feeling—he was usually a rather solitary person. Having someone else around that seemed to understand him so well…it was exhilarating. Edward was simply not getting to the door fast enough for Mikael. [/blockquote] OUTFIT!

Sarah ended up getting along with her male dormmate just fine. In fact, they turned out to be pretty okay friends. Unlike most men or really any college kids in general, he wasn't annoying or loud or obnoxious. Quite the opposite, in fact. He was quiet and kind and the perfect roommate. If Sarah had crushes, which she didn't, she might have had one on Edward Pearson. But yeah, no. She wasn't at all about to have feelings for any man, even this one. It would be a distraction, and with college taking up most of her life, she did not need distractions.
In fact, she needed time to relax, which was what she was doing now. Attempting to take a nap, she laid on her bed, trying to calm her mind enough to actually get some sleep. Edward wasn't here, though where, she didn't know, but that was okay since he tended to type some things on his typewriter. That was pretty much her only complaint. If she didn't have her iPod, the sound of those keys would have driven her insane.
Which was pretty funny, if you thought about it.
Just as she was about to finally fall asleep, she heard an odd sound. Groaning, she sat up, realizing it was a rapping at their chamber door. Okay, maybe she was reading too much Poe lately, but whatever. Rubbing her eyes, she stood up. Sarah hadn't bothered changing out of her clothes for the day when she decided to take that nap, so her shirt and pants were now wrinkled. Though tired and annoyed, she still carried herself as she always did, without a trace of slouch of shoulders or back, head held high, but with less of grace and more of a knowing that she had control. It was more of an intimidating stance to anyone who looked close enough or bothered to care.
Walking to the door, she heard a sound she couldn't place, then a few words. Curious, she picked up the pace a little, and made it to the door. Slowly she opened it.
Maybe she had fallen asleep.
There was a... person, either a feminine man or a slighly masculine girl. She really could not tell. But more importantly, there was a raven on his shoulder. A raven of the saintly days of yore. Yeah, this was a dream. She had been reading The Raven earlier. Somehow, though she hadn't been thinking much about it, it must have found it's way into her subconscious. "Come in..." she said, not bothering to interrogate the manwoman before letting himher come in like she normally would have. Nothing could really happen in a dream, right? Except...
You're not dreaming.
outfit. also, count the effs i give that LADY macbeth said 'the raven himself is hoarse'.

The girl that opened the door was a bit of a surprise to him. Mikael blinked several times, glancing to the side a few times, double checking the number. He had the number right, right? Who was this girl—was she possibly Edward’s roommate? Slowly, Mikael followed her into the dorm. Yep, this was definitely Edward’s place. He remembered the decoration, but the girl was new. “Uhh…I was looking for Edward?” He asked quietly, hesitating in the hall nervously. Edgar fluttered onto the back of the couch, his usual perch. The raven’s head twisted side to side, blinking those beady eyes at Sarah.
Mikael wasn’t sure he wanted to make himself comfortable if Edward wasn’t here. It also didn’t help that he felt sick to his stomach watching Sarah walk around the dorm. He pulled his blonde hair over his shoulder, and both hands twisted the strands nervously while he glanced at Edgar; watching as the raven hopped up and down the couch anxiously. It let out a loud croak at Sarah, seemingly cross at her for the fact she wasn’t Edward. So…that made two of them.
“Are you his girlfriend?" The words came sputtering out before Mikael could completely think it over. Normally he was poised, his words and thoughts very well thought out. He was poised, graceful. But he stood there with wide eyes at Sarah, his hands clutching at his own arms—looking a little surprised at himself. What if she was? Why did that possibility make his stomach do a flip-flop? Maybe it was because Edward wouldn’t be able to hang out as much? Or was it maybe that…no, Mikael didn’t get jealous. Not at all.
Mikael swallowed hard, and unzipped his black jacket feeling far too warm. It loosened on him, and revealed the black tanktop beneath it. It was much cooler, a little easier to take a breath now that he didn’t feel like he was overheating. He didn’t look at Sarah though while he pulled his hair into a loose ponytail. Instead, he watched Edgar closely, embarrassed by his question still. “If Edward’s not here, I can go.” He murmured quietly.

"He's not here."
Despite her guide's omnious words, Sarah would still liked to have believed this was a dream. Because she was tired, and didn't feel like putting much effort forth in interrogating the manwoman in front of her to see who heshe really was. He had said that he was looking for Edward... but was that enough? Anyone could get into a roster for the dorms and see who resides where. You didn't even have to look at a piece of paper. The gossip-y receptionist at the front desk of the building would tell you right away. Which was stupid, in Sarah's opinion. Had she not gone to college? Did she not know what took place here? The fact of the matter was, she wasn't yet convinced, and her eyes were now full of scrutiny towards the manwoman with the bird.
Speaking of the bird, wasn't Edward afraid of birds? Which made the manwoman's story less likely. Edward wouldn't hang with someone who toted a live bird around with him. She looked from the bird and back to the manwoman, wondering who the hell he could possibl-
Wait. What?
At the sudden question, she blinked slowly, almost bursting into laughter. Even though she was very tense and uncertain, a snort escaped her grasp, making it very clear that she was trying not to forget what air was. Though Edward was cool, she would never actually consider a real relationship. She didn't consider a real relationship with anybody, really. "No, I'm not his girlfriend." Looking himher up and down again, she took a wild guess. "Are you?"
Sarah watched as he unzipped his jacket and pulled hisher hair into a ponytail. Nervous? It wasn't all that warm in here. Well, heshe should be nervous, right? That's what they wanted. Control. Power. Etcetera. But she deemed that, if heshe knew Edward enough to ask a question like that, heshe was okay. Besides, even though heshe was tall, heshe was thin. She could take himher.
No, it's fine. I'm sure he'll be back soon." Because she didn't really know him to go anywhere except to class or the library or the like. "I'm Sarah, his dormmate."

Mikael looked shocked by her sudden laughter, which startled Edgar into fluttering back towards Mikael. He did not want those talons in his shoulder, and the massive bird gave him only a second to open his hands to catch the bird with both hands. As though he were some rabbit, Edgar seemed to be content with resting in Mikael’s hands, watching Sarah with his beady eyes. Mikael continued to hold that look of surprise while Sarah laughed at him. Okay, very strange. His mouth closed slightly, and he forced his expression blank until Sarah finished laughing.
Then again, that lasted for just a moment before Mikael’s face flared to life. This was almost too much for him—he was a calm, collected individual. He didn’t get nervous. He didn’t get flustered. And yet, here he was—completely caught off guard by the question. “I’m not a girl.” He sputtered, before he clenched his eyes shut, “What I mean is I’m not his girlfriend. I’m his—we’re friends. No relationship. He’s…no, just friends.” Mikael managed to choke out, raising the black bird to his lips, kissing the soft feathers to help him relax.
“I’m Mikael. I’m a friend of his, helping him with his fear.” He raised his hands, holding Edgar up for a moment pointedly. “He’s coming along rather swimmingly. He doesn’t seem quite as frightened around Edgar right now.” Slowly, Mikael sat on the edge of the couch, sliding his hands out from under Edgar so the bird rested comfortably in his long lap. “I don’t want to be any trouble. He can get kind of wrapped up in projects, so…I don’t mind leaving if I should.” He felt sort of at home sitting on the edge of the couch though, and when his eyes dipped down to look at the bird in his lap—it wasn’t long before they glanced back up at Sarah.
The girl was strange, no doubt about it. There was something dream-like about her, though with the sight of her crinkled clothes—he couldn’t tell if that was because she just woke up, or if it was a natural thing for her. “He’s friendly, if you want to say hi.” Mikael poked the side of Edgar’s head, earning an annoyed chirp from the bird.

Oh, wrong guess. That was fine. She could deal with a wrong guess like this. "Ah, I see." So it was a guy, okay. Honestly, she didn't know why she wasn't feeling more apprehensive around the man. Well, that was a lie. She was fine because he just seemed so nervous about something. Honestly, this wasn't the most threatening Sarah could be.
"Well, that's very kind of you." She was a bit surprised at the situation. Sarah liked to know things, and she wondered how Edward ever stumbled upon this odd bird. "You want anything to drink? I have soda, water, wine...?" Sarah could be a good host if she wanted to be. Though she wasn't totally sure the guy was old enough to drink wine. The only reason she had any alcoholic beverage around in not-her-stash-of-scotch-for-those-days was because she liked the taste of wine. She could enjoy a glass or two without "How did you and Edward meet?" She didn't recognize him at all, so she was sure he wasn't a Barrie student, or at least not a senior. Likely, she would have remembered him. Really any person that she couldn't tell the gender of left a mark.
Oh? Sarah did like ravens... though the beautiful black bird seemed a little jumpy around her. In fact, he seemed to be in sync with his human companion in both emotions and movements. "Are you sure?" she asked. Though she did like them, she had no idea how to go about petting them. She didn't want to hurt Edgar and offend Edward's friend. He didn't have all that many that she saw. Very much an introvert, that boy. Much like Sarah herself. "Well, hi Edgar," she said, standing near the couch, too uncertain to even hold out her hand. She needed that.
