build
Naturally slender, Alara also does not have many curves. She maintains her slim figure with a morning jog alongside her sister.
height 5'1"
clothing style Alara is much less punk rock. She has her moments, but she prefers more put together, simple clothes. Her wardrobe oftain contains shorts, jeans, and tanktops. When she feels like it, she may put a little more effort into her clothes, but she lacks that distressed style of clothing her sister wears.
distinctive traits Other than having the same face as another girl? Nope.

personality
Bossy. Alara usually takes the lead, and it suited her well when she was made Captain of the girl's soccer team. She's also the sort to take the lead when it comes to projects, or working with others--or simply being around others. But it's not just enough to take the lead; she tends to push the people around her into doing things. Nothing terrible, at least. But if she gives them a job to do, they better do it with a shit-eating grin.
Motherly. This is mostly with freshman, and younger kids. She tends to mother-hen them while managing to still be bossy. She'll make sure any kids around are fed, happy, and taken care of. She often does babysitting gigs on the side, but her biggest babysitting job is currently Alana. Alara is almost at her wit's end trying to get her sister to act somewhat normal, and trying to expose her grumpy sister more to the outside world.
Indifferent. Unless you're a screaming kid or very close to her--Alara's probably not going to care very much about things. If someone's crying, upset, or begging; she tends to dead-pan stare them. She tends to be a bit dismissive, telling people, 'You'll get over it'. She's borderline socially inept at times, and can come across as being a bit insensitive.
Listener. Not big on talking, Alara prefers to listen. She only really speaks when she feels like she has something to say; so idle chatter with her won't get you much of anywhere. She enjoys listening to stories, or life-chronicals, and as much as she enjoys other people opening up to her, most people know almost next to nothing about her. She's more likely to listen than she is to talk over you, and sometimes in a group of chatter-boxes, she tends to fade into the background.
Intelligent. Books are something she enjoys even more than sports. They take her away to a distant land; but it doesn't involve just books. She's quick and good with numbers, and likes to read science books, psychology books and just browse websites for different information. After so long of this, she's soaked up quite a bit of information. You need a remedy or a quick fix or advice on how to do something? Alara is your girl.
Athletic. Her sister, Alana, is also athletic, though the other twin doesn't really do much with it. Alara on the other hand jumped at the chance to get on the soccer team. She'd enjoy trying other sports, but soccer is where her heart is. Alara has been known to do laps in the pool, trying to beat her best time, jogging for the hell of it, and playing basketball down on the courts after school.
past
Originally, Mr. and Mrs. Grove were only expecting one child. A healthy baby girl that that had decided to name Alana, even before she was born. Everything seemed to be fine, healthy, peachy-keen. Only, when Mrs. Grove went into labor---they got a little bit of a surprise.
Alana was the first born, but Alara was the second. They had no idea of the twins; throughout the pregnancy, the twins' heartbeats were synchronized, and Alana had been sheilding her twin from view of the wee little camera. The proud, albeit shocked, parents welcomed the second child without a single ounce of hesitation.
From that moment on, Alana and Alara were never seperated, and despite their identical looks--they developed their own personalities rather quickly. Alana was the crier, the louder one, the one that always got into trouble, and pouted when she didn't get her way. Alara, the bossier one, more quiet, and reserved than her sister. But they were never apart.
As they grew up, people had tried lumping the twins together as one. And though the girls felt like they were one unit--they wanted to become themselves. Not what other people tried to make of them. Alara took a different route than her more rude sibling, and took up soccer the moment she was able to get on a team.
She joined the team for the first time in eighth grade, and has played throughout her years in high-school. At first, her teammates didn't like her because she was a bit quieter than most girls. She never cheered, but she smiled. She didn't speak unless she felt she needed to, and this lead them to believe she thought she was too good for them.
As the years went on, Alara got more of a determination to make friends. She thought her sister was doing the same, and didn't want to be the odd woman out. So despite her closed off personality, she forced herself outside of her comfort zone when it came to her teammates. Once she opened up, a whole nother door opened.
Alara, though she's quiet--turned out to be quite popular amongst the jocks. She isn't cheerleader popular, and she doesn't get along with everyone; but she does usually get invited to the more exciting parties and events. Alara's social calander rarely has a blank spot, though sometimes she makes excuses just to stay in the dorm with her sister.
present
Now a senior at Baum, Alara's name is well known among the sports circut. She's still in the more popular loop, however she's realized that her sister didn't quite fair so well in their quest for self-identity. This has lead her to cancelling more parties, and spending more time with her sister.
Much to Alana's apparently dismay, Alara tries to keep her sister from skipping school, and often tries to help her with her school work. Because she feels bad for leaving her sister in the dust, she doesn't get terribly upset with Alana accidentally chases off a potential new friend. Instead, she has taken to bringing her sister with her to parties more to try and get her a little more exposed.
She's taken to motherhenning her sister to an almost obnoxious degree, which causes a few tiffs between the twins. Alara's starting to get a bit tired of her wasted efforts however, yet she still covers for Alana to their parents and tries to get her sister out of trouble. Sometimes, she wishes that her and her sister were more alike, to avoid all of the problems regardless.

likes
-Alana. It goes without saying that her twin is at the top of this list. Even though she's gotten to being on the more social side of the scene, Alana is her go-to for everything.
-Stories. She likes listening to stories, but not any stories. She likes whimsical, crazy stories. Or listening to old people telling their life adventures. She will listen in a rapt silence, and sometimes will go back to certain people and ask to hear it again.
-Violin. As where her sister was trained in piano and further went to keyboard, Alara was formerly trained in violin at a young age. About the time Alana switched to keyboard, Alara went to electric violin--though she has one of each.
-Frankenstein's Monster. Know how some people are obsessed with a certain movie, or a certain character from a book? Alara has a thing for Frankenstein's Monster. She likes that he's a mish-mosh of different things and people, and often enjoys things like that such as gryphons, gargoyles, centaurs, etc.
-Books. As where Alana is a realist and down to earth--Alara likes the imagination of books. They take her somewhere else other than this boring world. But try and start a conversation with her, they may just recieve a blank stare and a slow blinks.
dislikes
-People thinking she's stuck up. She's really not stuck up, though sometimes she appears to be. If someone bores her, she simply tells them this, and walks off. She doesn't talk quite so much if she doesn't need to, and this leads to people believing she's stuck -up. And that hurts her feelings more than she lets on.
-Bossy people. She's the boss, she wears the pants. So she doesn't like it when someone else tries to take the lead. Sometimes this makes her and Alana knock heads, but her sister usually backs off.
-Quiet people. She's a listener, not a talker. So other people that are quiet, she gets frustrated and bored with. After all, how much fun is it staring at each other, and trading blinks?
-Losing a game. Especially soccer. She accepts that it happens; you can't win them all--but it does irritate her to no end. If it's a video game, or a board game--she's been known to keep challanging and playing a person until she wins.
-Being away from Alana. They started to branch off to make their new friends, and though Alara got the more popular end of the stick--she feels anxious and antsy when she's away from Alana for too long. Alara will cut trips short to come back to Alana---though she'd never say that.

book title Alice's Adventures in Wonderland
backstory Alright, so there's this Gryphon right? He's got sort of an alpha-male complex thing going on. He sort of thinks he's all high and mighty, and that his shit don't stink. Maybe not really, but he really doesn't seem to care too much when someone's upset, distraught, or what have you.
His pal is the Mock Turtle, who he tends to boss around, even though that awkward turtle doesn't seem to like it quite so much. Either way, this Gryphon dude is the one that takes Alice to the criminal trial, leaving his dear good friend the Turtle behind. Jerk.
