In Central Park there was a large, flat rock. It was large enough that some people were having a picnic on it, some where chatting with friends--but in this case there was a rather large pink and black lizard lounging on the rock. Okay, maybe not a lizard, but she almost seemed to have the languid, relaxed air of one. There was a puffy white blanket beneath her, to protect her bare elbows from the rocky surface, but she was reclined like she was reclining on a beach in tahiti. One may expect this lizard-esque girl to be wearing nothing short of a bikini, but this wasn't the case.
She had received a few looks when she stepped straight over other blankets, walked between couples, and kicked the kids out of her usual spot. She was dressed like a punk-rock bubblegum had thrown up on her, and her long blonde hair wast straightened to an inch of its life. On her face, sheilding her heavily masked eyes from the sun were hot pink sunglasses, and she looked up towards the sky. In her ears, hidden beaneath her hair were a pair of earbuds that hooked up to the iPod laying to her side, and out of the sun. Now, Alana was in her own world.
Alana had attempted to convince her sister to come and join her, but Alara had something called homework to do. Whatever the hell that was. Alana hitched up her knees, and crossed one leg over the other, her legs low enough that her skirt draped, rather than hitched. She may be a bit of a brat--but there was no need to go about flashing the passerbys with her underroos. Music blared loudly in her ears, and she couldn't help but sigh. She enjoyed the sunshine, the open air. But sometimes she wished there was some undiscovered cave or cavern in New York, where she could explore in the dark, damp tunnels. A small, secure place that was all her own. Something safe where no one could actually bother her.
But was that really what she wanted? To be left completely alone? As that thought crossed her mind, her tiny, upturned nose wrinkled a bit, and caused her sunglasses to move on her face. Her lips also scrunched up while her eyes flicked behind the dark lenses watching the cloud. No, she didn't want to be alone. She did have Alara, after all. But maybe it would be nice to have some friends.
Cue snort.
Yeah, her. Friends. Right. That would go over like a fart in a spacesuit. Alana leaned her head back again, her expression relaxing. She shook out her blonde hair so it fell over her shoulders, letting the warm sun fall on the pale skin that her corset revealed. Who needed friends when you had the sunshine, fresh air, plants, and fuzzy little creatures that would keep you company?

Central Park had and always would be one of her favorite places. Clarissa grew tired of New York at times, finding the concrete city boring and tiresome. She longed to visit somewhere tropical and exotic. It'd have to wait until after she finished school, unfortunately. Until then, she'd have to make do with Central Park. Well, it had lots of trees... if she thought hard enough, she could make it some exotic rainforest.
Bashful didn't mind for once; he had a good feeling about Central Park. He kept saying something about the other dwarves. He couldn't pinpoint where they were or if they were awakened or who they were. Clarissa wouldn't have been surprised if he led her on a wild goose chase. For the time being, she took her time meandering down the paths. She wanted to enjoy this as long as she could before Bashful grew impatient.
After about an hour of wandering, Clarissa came across a rather large rock. It was definitely a favorite place of those visiting Central Park. It was big enough to have room for quite a few people and it was flat which meant it was nice for picnics and taking a break. She'd been ready to go right by it, finding it much too busy for her liking, but Bashful caught her arm and stopped them both on the spot. "Wait..."
It took about a minute of standing there and staring before Bashful cheered. "Yes! One of them is on that rock!
" He headed up the rock, not considering the people who walked through or stepped on. Clarissa hurriedly followed him, being much more careful than he had been. She even had half a mind to apologize for his rudeness before she remembered that they couldn't see him anyway. Bashful had stopped scouring the rock for whoever he was looking for. He was now circling a blonde girl, eyeing her like a hawk, trying to figure out who she was. Clarissa recognized her from school; however, twins had always confused her and there was no way she'd know the difference now. " Grumpy!" Bashful exclaimed triumphantly. Deciding that being timid would get her no where, Clarissa approached the girl and settled down beside her. She left a bit of space, pulling her knees to her chest and trying to be as small as possible. The rock wasn't exactly crowded but it wasn't really roomy. From here, Clarissa could hear the music and she wondered how to go about this. There was no way she'd be heard over music that loud. Still, she cleared her throat as loud as she dared and patiently hoped that the girl wouldn't be too annoyed. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Alana glanced up, and around. She felt like she was being watched, but people often stared at her. Something just didn’t feel right. Like there was something or someone really close to her. She shifted uncomfortably, and leaned her head back again. Maybe if she just ignored it, it would go away. Unfortunately, it didn’t go away, and she really did feel something next to her. Something that had more substance. A person. Her eyebrow twitched behind her sunglasses, and she continued to try and ignore it. Maybe whoever it was would get the message.
The next few seconds that ticked by felt like hours; Alana couldn’t even focus on her freaking music and that was a completely unforgiveable offense. Alana issued a loud, clearly irritated sigh and grabbed her iPod and stopped it. Sitting up straight, she made a slow show of taking out her earbuds and turned to look at the person that had the nerve to sit close to her. When she pulled off her sunglasses, and really looked at Clarissa, she was surprised to find her sitting closer than Alana had expected.
“Can I help you?” Came the annoyed words out of Alana’s mouth. She recognized Clarissa—one of those irritating girls from school. The mousey one who never seemed to have too much important to say. Then again, no one except Alara had something important enough for Alana to really listen to. “Seriously, why the fuck are you sitting there?” Alana leaned on her hand a little bit closer to Clarissa, fixing the brunette with an icy cold stare. “Because the last time I checked, you and I are not friends.” After that, Alana’s mouth shut and her jaw set in a clenched manner.
Seriously—what was this girl’s issue. What was her name anyway? Who cared? Alana’s hand drummed on the rock idly, impatiently, and she did a damn good job of not blinking those large blue doe-eyes of hers.

The longer Clarissa sat there, waiting for something, anything, to happen, the more awkward she felt. Why did she even listen to Bashful sometimes? There had to be a better way to go about this. This was just... well, it was rude and disrespectful. Maybe it would be better if she just got up and--
Oh, that did not sound like a good sigh. Clarissa winced and bit down on her tongue, preparing for the worst. She watched from the corner of her eye as the blonde removed her earbuds and turned to look at her. The entire movement was slow and it made Clarissa rather uncomfortable. Which was saying something because she was the one intruding on the blonde's personal space.
Clarissa looked at her, made eye contact and swallowed back her apprehension. Alright. Better to act confident than not be confident at all. Right? Maybe. Unless this girl could sense fake confidence. She looked like the sort who could. Before Clarissa could answer the first question, the blonde went on.
Clarissa's eyes widened and any fake confidence she'd mustered disappeared. Bashful was tapping his foot impatiently just as the girl was drumming her fingers on the rock. The pressure was getting to Clarissa and finally, she blurted out, "I'm sorry, I didn't see your name written down here."
Oh God, did she want to get a beating? Bashful laughed at first before realizing that any host of Grumpy would not agree to being spoken to like that. So, to Clarissa's relief, he slipped into control. "Though I am definitely invading your personal space and I apologize for that, " Bashful spoke through Clarissa, sounding sincere but not at all like he was finished.
She moved away just a bit before continuing. "You're right, we aren't. But why not? The park is so much better with company.
" Clarissa disagreed with that but Bashful ignored her, almost disappointed that she'd done such a terrible job of handling this on her own. " I'm Clarissa." notes; lol jeezus clarissa. sorry for taking so long to reply! [/blockquote][/blockquote]
