...appearance*
hair color
Lila has long, chocolate colored hair. You know the kind, the rich, deep brown. But there's not just that, her hair has streaks of a lighter brown, almost a blonde, caramel color weaving and swirling through the darker brown locks.
In the summer, her entire head of hair seems to absorb the sunshine, lightening entirely to a sweet, honey-brown color.
eye color
Doe eyes would be the most appropriate term for Lila's large, round eyes. They're a deep brown, that always seem to be warm and kind. Thick brows draw attention to those eyes of hers.
build
She's lithe, slight of frame. Lila dances in her spare time, so she has to remain light and flexible. She has a long, graceful neck, and always seems to hold her chin up when she walks.
Lila has an excellent posture, and seems to move just as airy as she does when she dances.
height
5'5"
clothing style
She prefers comfort, when it comes to clothing. Loose, modest skirts. Feminine blouses, flats. It's not to say she won't wear a pair of shorts and a tank-top during summertime. But should she go on a date, or an outing with her friends, you can expect that Lila would be dressed quite feminine and modest.
distinctive traits
When Lila sings, it's something otherworldly. The notes shimmer in the air, and slide from note to note as smooth and clear as a crystal champagne glass. It almost seems effortless when the notes float out of her lips. The power in her voice almost directly rivals her speaking voice, which is almost deep, and usually a relaxed, soft tone. She rarely yells.

personality
Charismatic. Her father was a popular playwrite, and there were many times that Lila was brought along to interviews and events. Watching her father with his fans, and later on watching Kevin's mother work with the staff--charisma is a trait that Lila picked up. She's always smiling, and encouraging people to do their best and to achieve their dreams, no matter how obscure the may seem.
Even-Tempered. It's extremely difficult to actually make Lila mad. She's pretty even tempered and calm, willing to talk it out with someone who may have a problem with her or something she's doing. She also doesn't outwardly panic or freak out, preferring mostly to keep that internal.
Proper. Lila is a proper lady. Not even in a show-off-look-how-awesome-I-am sort of way. She is graceful, dresses modestly, and tends to not curse or use foul language. Lila doesn't burp in public, and should it slip out--she always says 'excuse me'. Adults are always, Mr., Ms., and Mrs., and she's usually quite polite.
Friendly. Because of her even-tempered nature, she's quite friendly to most people. Goth, Punk, Gangstuh, Prep--whatever stereotype you have, Lila is alwas willing to smile and ask how their day is. She's the sort that will go out of her way to walk a lost underclassman to their classes, and help someone with homework they may be having trouble on.
Talented. After her father's passing, this became more of a secretive trait. Lila grew up watching the stage, and she had an affinity for music. When this was discovered, her father put her in classes and fine-tuned Lila's voice. All around, Lila has a nice singing voice. She's lovely to listen to, and can pick up an style of music relatively quickly. However, she was trained for opera--her true love--and that's where most of her talent lies.
past
Growing up, Lila didn't have to ask for much. It had just been her and her father; she never knew her mother. All that her father said on the subject was that she had passed away. Out of sight, out of mind. Lila was curious, and wondered but he never needed. She was raised in Aspen, a nice place where the air smelled like money. Though she lacked a mother, she didn't lack friends. Her childhood best friend was Kevin, the son of her parent's best friends.
At a young age, she was discovered to enjoy singing moreso than acting on the stage. After testing Lila's dedication to the opera that she seemed to love so much, Charles put his daughter into rigorous classes. Lila's time was spent in those classes, working and perfecting her art and the time she wasn't in classes she was with Kevin. Exploring, playing, and even watching old movies. She'd sing for Kevin whenever he asked, or when he fell and scraped his knee, or even when he was having trouble sleeping.
Throughout their childhood, and early teens, Lila and Kevin were inseperable. Until one day, late in her freshman year disaster struck. Her father had a heartattack, and never made it to the hospital. From then on, the world seemed to move at a rapid pace around her, and she felt numb all around. Not even Kevin's smiling face could pull her out of it. She stopped attending classes, and even stayed with Kevin for a few days while the word sunk in.
Orphan. She was an orphan.
It was just a few days of curling up in the safe cocoon that was her best friend's arms, before she was alerted that DCF had tracked down a distant aunt in New York, and that she was to immediately pack her things and get on the flight. She was still completely numb from her father's death, and she tried to sing to Kevin before he left. But her voice cracked, and broke, and something was lost in the wave of tragedy that she was drowning in.
She arrived to New York, and finished her classes for the semester online. Her Aunt and Uncle were extremely accomodating, and though they hadn't been present in her life--they were doing their best to be there for her now. However, Lila wanted to get away from those pitiful eyes, and saught refuge at Baum Academy. With her prior grades, and the funds left behind from her father--enrolling hadn't been a problem.
She avoids the stage, because it hurt too much to sing. There was something gone from her voice. She had lost her father, and the only friend she had ever known.
During her sophmore year, Lila took Drama during school, but never gave a second thought of staying after classes. That wasn't where she belonged anymore. Remaining at Baum for her junior year, she has once again enrolled to be in Drama Class, and the stage has been looking more enticing than ever.
present
Lila's now a junior at Baum Academy, and she's still rather traumatized from her father's death. Her aunt and uncle have been extremely supportive of her, but they are trying to gently push her in the way of the stage. And it's slowly working.
Lila finds herself staring at the stage, often before class starts when no one is around--she'll stand on the stage and stare up at the lights. Her father wouldn't have wanted her hiding in the shadows like some monster--she had a gift. And she was supposed to use it. But every time she tried, she felt an overwhemling sadness over the fact her father would not be in the front row, applauding her success.

likes
-Music. As much as she seems to have turned her back on it, it is her true love. Usually when she's studying or excersizing--she's got some form of opera going.
-Cheese Toast. Toast it. Throw some cheese on it. Microwave it to melt the cheese. She'll be yours forever.
-1800's. It was a time when women were ladies, and men were gentlemen. She likes the whole debonair style of that era, especially late 1800's.
-Singing. When no one's around, she tends to sing. Mostly to herself, and very quietly under her breath. Sometimes she doesn't feel like she has the strength to keep singing, but she loves it too much to ever truely stop.
-Romance Novels. She's a complete sap for classic romance novels, and bodice-rippers. Her bookshelf is mostly lined with the books that feature Fabio on the cover; quite honestly, she's usually got her nose in one.
-Languages. At a young age, she was expected to be bi-lingual, because in order to work at the top of an industry, you must be able to communicate with others. That started with Spanish. Lila loved other languages enough that she added French to her list, and is currently practicing Italian.
dislikes
-Terrible singers. She's not one to be rude to people with terrible voices, but it tends to give her a headache. Also, people who oversing and try to make themselves divas. No. Thank. You.
-Modern Music. Some of it's okay, but she preferres classical music and operas. If she had to pick a modern type of music she liked, probably indie music. The songs mean something, and they're nice and mellow.
-Trashy Women and Tasteless Men. She's not sexist by any stretch of the imagination, but she finds it more than a llittle unattractive when girls curse too much or dress in a way that leaves little to the imagination. Additionally, she can't stand it when men sag their pants, or talk like something out of the ghettos. Lila especially hates it when men treat women as obejcts, or as "bitches" and "hoes".
-Sodas. She's just not a fan, they leave a strange taste in her mouth. Water or juice, preferably.
-Being trapped. It's a phobia for her. She likes knowing where the exits and entrances are. She doesn't want to be in a room where she can't get out, or a small enclosed space. You're quite likely to see Lila going up and down flights of stairs, than spend a single moment in an elevator.

book title Phantom of the Opera
backstory So basically, there's this chick, Christine. And she's getting tutored by who SHE thinks is the Angel of Music. Only it's not. It's a total creeper with lepracy or something. Who really knows? Anyway. She kinda gets a thing for him, but that all goes to shit when he basically kidnaps her and starts killing people. So Raoul, bless his little heart, whisks her right off her dang feet, much to the dismay of the Phantom. But honestly, Christine is the master of the yard-long stare, and still has a thing for the Phantom. If he didn't like. You know. Go all batshit on her.
