name Adriana Delacroix.
nickname Adie, Dree, Ri, etc. She really doesn't care.
age 16.
gender Female.
grade Baum Academy Sophomore
hometown Williamsburg, Virginia
sexuality She likes boys, probably a little more than she should.

...appearance*
hair color Blonde. Her dad used to call her Goldilocks, but she'll probably pitch a fit if anyone else does.
eye color Green.
build She's thin, but still has a bit of baby fat, so shutup.
height 5'5" but still growing, right? Right?
clothing style It's girly enough with a hint of rebellion as of late. She also makes a lot of her own clothes, like denim skirts/jackets with old jeans, bags with old shirts, etc.
distinctive traits She looks a bit younger than she is.
...personal*
personality The first thing anyone would probably notice about Adriana is that she's obessed with the opposite sex. Boys are her top priority when they're around, and when they're not, they're pretty high up there. She knows the name of almost every 'hot' guy in school, and ships herself with them. She acts like she knows everything about them, though honestly she doesn't. If a guy tries to flirt with her, she'll flirt back, but she's not very good at it with all her practice and she would never approach a guy. She'd rather fangirl from the sidelines, which is probably why she's never had a boyfriend before, which she hates.
It's not like she wouldn't go unnoticed, though, because Adriana's a wild-child. She wants to get noticed and she'll do whatever it takes. Whether that's wearing clothing that's probably not school-appropriate or dancing on tables at parties or joking around in class, she'll do it. She really doesn't care about her reputation, as she believes that, and I quote, "all reputation is good reputation". She could care less if everyone thought she was a mass murderer, as long as they thought that Adriana Delacroix was a mass murderer.
Besides her endless search for attetion and sometimes blonde moments, Adriana's not really that stupid. She has a B average, and that's only because when it comes to tests, she's an extremely good guesser. She guesses things right most of the time, like names and accents, but she's better with a list of choices and prior knowledge. She's also good at getting what she wants and manipulating people who can give her things, which is mainly Evan. But.
While she acts like an obnoxiously spoiled brat sometimes, she does get sad from time to time and misses her dad. And not just that, but living in an orphanage isn't easy, because there's an air of sadness that comes with every new addition that never really goes away. She tries to cheer the kids up sometimes (after all, she was there once), but she can tell when they really just want to be left alone like she did.
And though she tries, sometimes she can be a bit insensitive. She's used to cheering herself up with jokes and brushing things off that she doesn't realize that others aren't accustomed to that sort of thing. Her jokes really aren't funny sometimes, and when she realizes that, it's one of the few times she feels ashamed about anything she does.
past Adriana doesn't remember her mother at all. She died of pneumonia when Adie was one, as the family couldn't afford treatment and they did think it was just the flu. It shocked everybody they knew and rocked the Delacroix family to it's feet. Wayne grieved for a while, taking close care of Adriana to distract himself from it, though he longed for something more than they had. He never wanted to be poor, and always desired for some sort of recognition.
So when Adriana was seven and Wayne met Gina Hughes, he didn't hesitate to woo her and marry her. Because she was everything he wasn't but wanted, a successful lawyer on her way to becoming a district attourney with money and a name most people knew in at least one way or another. Gina had always wanted to raise a daughter but never had a time, so at least she would have one to her name. So Gina married Wayne, kept her last name, and adopted Adriana.
Adriana never really knew her stepmother, seeing as she worked all the time and went to social events and took her dad and left her with a babysitter. It was Gina's colleague's son, Evan, and they got along great. Adriana was a bit quiet at the time but had her moments. For a few years, even though she never really got to spend time with her new stepmom, she was happy because her father was happy with his high life.
She didn't know the reason, though. Why he had wanted the money.
Wayne Delacroix was diagnosed with cancer a few months after Millicent died. He found out that Millicent had a cousin who was a doctor, and they got to talking. Wayne explained some of his symptoms and he promised to help him check it out. It was slow, and it likely wouldn't spread for a couple of years, but there was no way Wayne could afford the chemothereapy so he kept the whole thing quiet. He married Gina so that in case he died, his daughter would have a nice life with moeny and things like that. But by the time he married Gina, it was too late.
Adriana was eleven when it happened.
Wayne had told her and Gina that it was just a regular check-up and went to the hospital. Gina thought nothing of it and said she'd pick him up after work. Adriana was at home with a different babysitter (at the time she didn't think she still needed a babysitter, but try convincing her parents that), and everything was supposed to be fine.
Gina wanted to know something, though. As a lawyer, and his wife, she had known that Wayne had been seeing someone about his will. And that day, she asked him about it while they were on the way home from the hospital. Unable to lie anymore at this point, he told her that the doctor said he only had about a month left to live.
But in reality, he only had about a minute.
Gina became distraught, and was trying to pull over so she wouldn't wreck. Unfortunately, a truck wasn't paying attention and sped right for them, colliding with the car as they were almost to the side of the street. The much smaller car was knocked through the barrier and into a tree. The driver called 911, then sped off, not wanting to take repsonsibility.
Wayne Delacroix and Gina Hughes died that day, and Adriana became an orphan.
present She cried when they told her, of course, but after that, she was silent. She hardly ever spoke a word, only when she needed to. As by a last will and testament, Adriana Delacroix and money not needed to pay off debts were sent to All Hope Orphanage, run by her old babysitter, Evan Jackson. Even as she was shuffled to New York and into her new room, she was quiet and very much in a shell. It was quiet there, too, at first. She always left her door open and screamed when it wasn't. Even she didn't know why, though, so it continued.
The next few years, with the help of her parents money, the orphanage grew and so did Adriana. Little by litte, with Evan's help of course, she made her way out of that shell and started to talk more and more and was generally happier. Now she can joke about being an orphan to people who are not orphans and smile everyday with no issue. She took her door down and replaced it with those beaded strings and tends to blare music and sing obnoxiously. She's good at cheering the other kids up if they know how to communicate with her, and she got a partial scholarship to Baum Academy.
Adriana likes Baum Academy well enough, but her favorite thing about it is probably all the boys. Cute guys, hot guys, those guys that look like One Direction, etc. She's too boy crazy for her own good.
family
Millicent Delacroix. mother. deceased when she was one. didn't know her.
Wayne Delacroix. father. deceased. raised her.
Gina Hughes. stepmother. deceased. really only knew her money.
Evan Jackson. basically her father, and anyone who disagrees will get a knitting needle to the eye.
likes
- Evan Jackson. He pretty much saved her life.
- Boys boys boys.
- Sewing/knitting/the like. It's kind of her secret hobby.
- Names. They're cool to her, the meanings and stuff. Like, her middle name means "radiant halo" form olde english and "golden" from the Latin aureolus.
- Gold. It's her favorite precious metal/color.
- Her necklace and ring. Her necklace was Millicent's and then Gina's and then hers, and her ring was her father's.
dislikes
- Closed-in spaces. She had her door replaced with those dangling decorations because she's afraid of being locked in. She doesn't know why.
- Spinning wheels. They've kind of freaked her out ever since she saw Sleeping Beauty.
- Babies. Pretty much anyone under the age of five is ignored by Adie.
- Greed. It's stupid and the root of all evil.
- Homework. She doesn't spend as much time on it as she should.
- New kids at All Hope. While she can comfort them, it pains her to see them because she was like that a few years ago.

book title Rumpelstiltskin
backstory So, this miller guy brags to the king that his daughter can spin straw into gold (which was total bullshit), and the king is all "LEMME SEE DAT." so the miller shows up with his daughter and the king locks her in a room and is all "bitch spin this straw into gold or you die" and she's all "dafuq" and cries because she doesn't know how to do that and all of the sudden this imp guy appears and is all "hey brah i gotchu i just need something in return" and she's all "hey thanks man here's this necklace" and he spins the straw into gold for her and leaves. that morning the king comes is and is all amazed but wants more, so the same thing happens that night and the imp appears again and is all "yo i gotchu gurl i just need something else" and she's all "i got dis ring man thanks" and he spins some more gold. then the king is all impressed again and is all "babe if you can do it one more time i'mma marry yo ass" and locks her in the room again and the imp shows up and it's the same story except she doesn't have anything left to give him. so insead of being a douche and asking for her virginity he's a gentleman and is all "hey man if you marry the king i want yo first born child" and she's all "lol okay thanks brah" 'cause she's just a miller's daughter, how would she be a queen? well obviously this is all figured out because the king marries her and a year later she had a baby without even thinking of the imp dude and then he shows up and is all "now gimme yo baby like you promised" and she's all "i'll give you all the royal treasure" and he's all "no something living is much more valuable to me okay fine i'll give you three days and if you can guess my name then four for you" and so she guesses totally wrong names the first two days and then sends a messenger out to find some more names and the messenger is a smart dude and sees the imp dancing around and singing and totally mentioning that his name is "rumpelstiltskin" and he goes back and tells the queen and she guesses it and rumpy throws a fit and leaves.
good thing spelling didn't count.
(there are other versions where he falls into a crevice/rips himself in two but adriana says those versions are not legit)
but basically the miller's daughter kind of gets thrown all into this and has no control over anything that happens (unless she wanted to die of course) and goes back on her promise to the man who saved her life. what a bitch.
