eye color Dark green, almost brown.
build Scrawny, teeny.
height 4'11" exactly. She measures every week.
clothing style Tomboyish, jockish. She doesn't normally wear skirts, or dresses unless it's for a joke, or to purposely look silly.
distinctive traits She'll rage at anyone she assumes is making fun of her height.
...personal*
personality Tiny. This is rarely a personality trait, but it quickly became one for her. It became part of her, everyone said she'd grow up and get taller. She's eighteen now, and it never happened. She's still as short as she was in middle school. She embraces her height(or lack thereof), but is extremely defensive over anyone making any sort of joke about it.
Self confident. Being so small, she never really was able to put much weight on, and with her constant love of sports, and running around, she has always been on the thin side. Her boobs never exploded into melons(they're her little plums, as she calls them), her hips didn't widen too much. But even though she didn't look straight off a lingerie runway--she always had a strange self confidence. Joey has discovered that people either like her, or they don't.
Friendly. As long as you dont make fun of her height, that is. Joey's been one to pull the kid sitting all along at lunch, into her group. Share her sodas, and snacks that she always carries with her. Redvines. What can't they do?
BACK to business! She's friendly to everyone, no matter what their skin color is, style of dress. Joey isn't bothered by mean people, or bitchy people. Of course--she's never met someone that could withstand her charm.
past Everyone seems to think that living in Las Vegas, means that every night you see the party, the lights, the clinking of coins, and chances to win big every night. It's not. That would be the Las Vegas Strip, a single long ass road, in the middle of the worst city in the world.
Nevada was dry. It could dry the skin right off a dolphin's backside, but Joey seemed to enjoy it enough. Then again, she didn't get out too much. Her mom was a little bit of a worry wart, always worrying that Joey was going to get hurt, or do something stupid, or get involved in the wrong crowd. Of course, Connie had good intentions---but it didn't mean Joey wasn't being driven up the wall.
She wanted to get away from being homeschooled, and wanted to be part of a clique, or be in with some kind of friends. Have real people, people that weren't boring. Or lame. No, none of that. Energy, excitement. That's what she needed. And that's what Joey got from a mysterious letter, sent by her absent father. Oh, he'd call once in a blue moon. Maybe a few days after her birthday, or on holidays. But suddenly, this cold, distant, hotel businessman, Mr. Rooks, wanted to be part of her life.
So then came the invitation to New York, stating that she had her own, rather decently sized flat in the heart of New York, and that she would be attending a Baum Academy. With real kids. With real classes. And an escape from her overbearing mother.
present
Joey gets together with her dad once and a while. Every weekend, when of course. Mr. Rooks isn't blowing her off. It's strange to call him dad still, but every time they meet--she leaves with a check in her hands. And greatful for it, she was still rather...uncomfortable. Like she was being paid to be his daughter.
Joey almost misses the safety of her mother's home, and the warmth of her arms. And then she reminds herself, that those comforting arms, were actually restraints that were keeping her from the outside world. It was time to let go, to be free, and to finally have fun. Time to make friends, baby!

book title The Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
backstory Roo was the friendly son of Kanga. He often stayed in her pouch where he could be looked after, but enjoyed playing with his friends. Tigger was able to teach him how to bounce higher, and Roo and Piglet tend to get into a tad of trouble. They often think that no one's onto them, but they seem to be painfully obvious.
