...basics*
name Victoria Anne-Marie Mayer
nickname Tori--but only by Victor. Should anyone else call her that, she will firmly put a stop to it.
age 27
gender Female
grade N/A
hometown Hornell, New York.
sexuality Heterosexual
personification The White Rabbit
status Dormant
face claim Katherine Heigl
...appearance*
hair color Blonde, but not just blonde. Victoria's hair is that shimmering, almost unnatural soft yellow blonde from root to tip. It shines in its well conditioned state, and falls just past her shoulders. Often she styles it with full, round waves.
eye color
Brown; it somewhat breaks the blonde-haired-blue-eyed stereotype, but they vary depending on the sunlight from lighter to darker.
build Age has been nice to Victoria. She still maintains a slender figure, with enough meat on her bones that she wouldn't be considered petite. She fills out her jeans and shirts rather nicely, and has a sturdy build.
height Like her brother, she's a bit on the taller side. Victoria reaches about 5'8" without shoes, but the heels that she's fond of will easily reach her closer to the six foot mark.
clothing style Usually jeans and a nice blouse--Victoria is used to running about, and having to leave places at a sudden notice. She favors dark jeans, summery blouses and comfortable heels. Often she wears a light touch of make-up, just enough to enhance her pretty features instead of cover them up.
When at home, it's likely that she wears boxers, old shorts, and ratty shirts. Unfortunately, she's had to run out of the house to go to the store in these clothes. Terribly embarrassing.
distinctive traits At a first glance, Victoria looks like a rather flawless, pretty individual. But upon closer inspection, one will notice the scar on the top of her forearm. The scar looked clean, a single line with a slightly glossy sheen to it, raised and lighter than the rest of her skin. A closer look at this scar would show smaller, tinier scars of a more brutal wound.
This had come from when her brother attacked her--her parents words, not hers. It was a long story, and slightly traumatizing for her age, however should anyone ask she just brushes it off with a, "My brother thought he was trying to protect me."
...personal*
personality
Since she was a small child, she had been particularly spoiled by her father. This made her somewhat of a brat. She never threw temper tantrums, she didn't pout and cry--but she learned how to work the system. Mommy was the 'no' parent, Daddy was the 'yes' parent. She used this to her advantage, often batting her eyelashes at Daddy, resulting in her getting what she wanted. It was rare that her father told her no, often pulling strings to get Victoria what she wanted.
However, this wasn't completely out of hand. Victoria had a strange grounding that came in the form of her older brother. Victoria had taken to calling him her Little-Big Brother, he was older in age but at times, it seemed like he was younger than her by a long-shot. She had taken to being protective of him, and had often chased the neighborhood bullies out of their yard when they tried to tease her brother.
He had problems, she knew. Victoria may not have fully understood what they were, but she knew enough that he was special. It made her protective, but also came with a hefty toll. She became somewhat distanced from her school friends; she hung out with them but there were times she skipped sleep-overs, because she would have rather rolled a ball back and forth between her and her sibling.
At times, Victor frustrated her. She unfortunately took to having a short temper, but she adapted to hiding it. Often by screaming into her pillow, or going into her room and punching the pillows. He could be frustrating, but as they got older he became her life. She was the mother of her older brother it seemed, and it made her become more of a mother-hen to the few friends that she had.
She preferred going to her friends house, rather than bring them over. The house was tense, and even though she would deny it up and down--her subconscious was embarrassed by her brother's mental state. She didn't like having to answer questions, or having to mother him when her friends were about.
Even though Victoria tends to get frustrated easier, she learned as she got older to have more patience. She wants to help her brother, feeling that homes aren't in the best choice. They didn't grow up with him--they didn't know him. Patience and learning his habits, she has adjusted her life around his. Victoria loves him unconditionally, but at times he feels like an obstacle in her way, stopping her from achieving her full potential.
past
Victoria had absolutely no idea what she was getting into when she had been born into the Mayer family. She was the second arrival, but the most anticipated. Her parents watched closely as she developed, hoping that she wouldn't be like her brother. The moment she developed properly, happy babbling, cooing, crawling and walking--her father had snatched her up and made her specifically his, while her mother became her brother's primary care-giver.
She was always praised, and given the prettiest clothes. She had become the star of the family, but she had been fascinated by the other child in the house. He was very different, and she quite liked that. Effortlessly, she brought home decent grades and made friends. She was fawned over constantly, and for a while she was worried that her brother's distaste for her might echo her mother's. But this was not the case--if anything, it drew the siblings closer together. Victor had become Victoria's favorite playmate. One of her favorite quotes to her brother was, "They named me Victoria after you. We're a pair!" Even though this wasn't exactly true, there was no telling Victoria any different.
The next few years went just fine for Victoria--her brother's issues seemed to escalate, but she never loved him any different. However, one summer day something occurred that would change both of their lives.
They had been playing out in the yard, just the two of them when her brother seemed to stare at something. He had mumbled about a spider, which didn't spark any screams or worry from Victoria. What caused the screams was the fact her brother had suddenly jumped on her, digging and tearing at her arm. Her brother had been ripped off of her, and the siblings were separated. Victoria went to the hospital for stitches, and Victor went to a home for people like him.
The next few years, things were different. Quiet at home, somewhat normal. The only things that broke this routine were the days that they went to visit Victor. Victoria loved those days, often making cards, or bringing pretty stones to show Victor. Each time, it seemed Mother needed to examine Victor's room, and rather than help--Victoria was shut outside of the room. She waited, and waited, and it seemed to take longer than she would have thought. The young girl had no idea about the horror that was happening under her nose--but what would she have done? Screamed? Attacked her mother? Nothing would have helped, and perhaps it was best that Victoria remained in the dark about Victor's abuse.
Things didn't get much better for Victoria, because around age fourteen her beloved Father passed away. His drinking had ruined his liver, and he finally succumbed to the disease that she had never known he had. Victoria was inconsolable, and now stranded with a mother that acted cold and distant from her. With her brother in the home, Victoria had a little more freedom. But the grieving of her father never seemed to finish.
Two years later, the grieving began yet again for her mother, who had died in a car crash. It didn't amount to the amount of broken-heartedness that her father's death had left her, so it was slightly easier for her to throw herself back into school. She was a few months from her eighteenth birthday, when she transferred to Baum Academy, with enough credits maintained in High School to enter her into college early.
That's when she received the phone call. Finally on her own two feet, she was now being pleaded with to take in her brother. With not too much convincing, Victoria gave in. Their parents were gone, and Victor was all she had left. She couldn't abandon him in that Home. He then moved in with her under the agreement that he would seek help.
present
The beginning was difficult. Luckily, the State was on her side, and provided her with the means to help her through school and to help take care of her brother. Victoria passed through College with flying colors, and though she now had a nursing degree--she had to eventually quit her job due to Victor.
Victoria felt uncomfortable leaving Victor alone for that long, and after a shift when she got home--she was far too tired to spend any time with him. So, Victoria left that job and picked up a job as the school nurse at Baum Academy. She works during a regular school day, and rushes home afterwards. On the weekends she occasionally picks up a few shifts at The Wandering Goose Cafe.
Her job may appear to eat up a lot of her time, but most afternoons were spent with Victor, and she manages to balance work and family. Once and a blue moon does Victoria go out. She has had boyfriends, but each one seemed to fall through, due to either her reluctance to bring them home--or being too put off by her brother's situation. The woman manages to maintain a few friendships, though she rarely brings them home.

book title Alice's Adventures in Wonderland
backstory So basically, the first person Alice meets is the White Rabbit. Actually, that kid follows the White Rabbit down the rabbit hole, and isn't completely aware of the fact that he has more important shit to do than amuse some silly little girl. Anyway, he's basically running late because his watch is like two days slow--which sends him on this wild goose chase to get his shit done.
Of course, Alice screws everything up and makes the poor dude run even later, and out of all the Wonderland characters--he's probably the most sane out of them all. Which is a bit of a stretch. Anyway, he eventually gets to where he needs to be, which is basically working for the Queen. I mean...if you worked for her crazy ass, you wouldn't want to be late either.
