...personal info*
personality...
optimistic: disposed to take a favorable view of events or conditions and to expect the most favorable outcome
Sammy always tries to look on the bright side, even when things seem hopeless. Part of this comes from having such an upbeat family. Her parents are always smiling, and her grandpa, Harvey Sr. is always cracking jokes, despite being 81 years old. Her older brother put stress on the family when his girlfriend became pregnant when they were twenty one, but they all stuck together and got through it. Even when times are tough, Sam makes the best of it.
calm: free from excitement; tranquil
Sam was never one to lose her temper or become exceptionally emotional in front of others. She usually stays calm and collected for the friends who tend to be more wild in nature than she is. Since Sam wants to be a doctor, she's great to have in a crisis, because people seem to gravitate towards her. She helps them to stay focused and not panic. People feed off her vibe. However, she's also very quiet and sometimes extremely shy. The only times that she's more extroverted is when she's helping all those people that she can't turn away for some reason.
responsible: having a capacity for moral decisions and therefore accountable; capable of rational thought or action
Never has a parent disliked Sammy. She's the epitome of model student, and she would much rather stay in to read than go to a party. Even though she seems to attract some colorful friends, she's the rational one in the group. She likes the few groups that she's joined, but they're not all popular ones. Not many people want to come chill with the book club or the choir, but Sam loves both of them.
compassionate: a feeling of deep sympathy and sorrow for another who is stricken by misfortune, accompanied by a strong desire to alleviate the suffering
Sam has always been a caring person. She loves animals and children. Ever since she returned to the city where she was born, Sam has had this overwhelming desire to help people in need. She doesn't accept that there are some things that can't be helped. In fact, this is the one area of her life where she's impulsive and sometimes extremely stubborn. She won't give up on anyone, no matter how hopeless things are.
life until now...
Samantha was born July 4th, 1995, in Penang, Malasia to Cale and June Hadley. Her birth was premature by nearly three months and the first months of her life were spent in a Malasian hospital. Cale and June were farmers-turned-missionaries, and had decided to dedicate their lives to giving spiritual help to lost souls in the remote regions of Malasia and Indonesia. Sam, her parents, and her older brother Harvey ended up living in Malasia for another few years before moving back to their native Clarksville, Texas.
Sammy had a normal childhood. Her parents settled down on their old farm again when they realized their close call abroad. They didn't want to risk anything hurting their dear Miracle Child. However, Sam adored the mission field and wished to spend her time helping others. She studied for hours a day and soon hit the top of her class in school. When it became clear that she was intelligent beyond that of her classmates, she skipped grades wildly. Things were quiet in Clarksville, and so was Sam. She was shy and reserved when she wasn't helping at the local shelters. Finally, though, her time came.
She lived there until her fourteenth birthday, when her favorite aunt whisked her away to see the world. They visited Malasia for a few months, spent a year and a half in India, stayed in Uganda for a month, then flew across the world again to Peru, where they stayed for half of a year. When they returned, Sam had finished her high school education online and her brother was a young father. He was moving to New York with his young wife and daughter. She wasn't about to let him have all the fun without her.
the present... Even though Sammy has technically graduated, she's missed the atmosphere of high school. She made a deal with the dean, and she was enrolled in only AP or PSEO classes. That way she could hold off on going to college until she felt ready. Sam wanted the whole experience, so even though her brother's family lives a few blocks away, she's staying in the dorms.
She visits her Harvey, Leah and her little niece Becca often. Making friends is sort of difficult for her, because she's quiet and reserved, but she always listens and loves to help people when they ask. She's joined several extracurricular activites, something there wasn't time for while she was traveling. These include Volleyball, Choir, Book Club, The Opal Ring and Young Writers Society.

title... The Wizard of Oz
backstory... She assists Dorothy by telling her how to use the silver slippers, She plays the most active role in finding and restoring Princess Ozma, the rightful heir, to the throne of Oz. Glinda had been searching for Ozma ever since the princess disappeared as a baby. It may well be that she didn't overthrow the Wicked Witches of the East and West, despite being more powerful than they were, because she wanted all of Oz to be unified under its rightful ruler, Ozma, first. After Ozma's ascent to the throne, Glinda continues to help the Queen of Oz to shape the future of the Land of Oz as a whole, no longer confining her powers to guarding her Quadling Kingdom in the South alone; true to her character, Glinda does not interfere in affairs of State unless Ozma seeks her counsel or help specifically. Glinda is strongly protective of her subjects in the South. She creates gated communities for the rabbits of Bunnybury and the paper dolls of Miss Cuttenclip, showing a personal interest in the concerns of not only the humanoid Quadlings, but also the other inhabitants of her jurisdiction.
