personality
Though modeling is supposed to “make you feel better about your inner beauty” or some crap like that, Grace is fairly certain guys just wanted her for her daddy’s money. She really has no confidence at all and was quit shy off camera. Grace Lynn was her character and she sure did play it well. Gracie, on the other hand was a shy girl who may have a large sum of money in her trust fund and a spectacular fashion sense but that’s all she is. Money and Fashion. Around anyone who doesn’t know her she’s actually pretty awkward, not knowing what to say because there isn’t a script in front of her. Considering all her mom teaches her is how to smile and walk, she wasn’t exactly sociable. She is easily manipulated by her mother who always tells her she is just normal and not even the good kind of normal. Other than her mother, Gracie fears nothing and often wanders off into the darker parts of New York out of curiosity. Some people could call her naive since she never really worries about bad people. They only existed in movies right?
Though Gracie does have potential. Your first impression of her could come off as a snobby model with no brains but Gracie is extremely book smart maintaining a 4.0 average throughout her schooling years. She’s naturally curious and likes to learn. Friends of Gracie know she won’t ask questions unless prompted to. She’s naturally obedient doing what most people tell her to do without thought. That part of her actually, she despises. She hates modeling and commercial acting. A person who looked inside would find she’s fairly miserable with her life and wanted an escape. A real one. Not just when she walked out on stage portraying a character.
Anyone keen with rebellion could see Gracie was in need of one. But the word rebel wasn’t even in her vocabulary so she had no idea where to start. Also the fear of her mother and her daddy’s disappointment, never allowed her to think of talking back for more than a second. She would have to find someone to push her over the edge. Someone who could conquer her fear. Like love. Love conquered all right?
past
Grace Lynn Adams was definitely born with a silver spoon in her mouth. Her father earning a multi-million dollar salary, allowed her to live life in leisure and get opportunities at a young age. She regularly attended movie premieres as a young child and became famous for her incredibly photogenic face. Her mother latched onto this and made Grace a tween super model by the age of thirteen. Grace being a young girl, soon grew tired of modeling and refused to be photographed for nearly a year, hiding behind her big brother Philip even for paparazzi pictures. He always stood up for Grace claiming she had an opinion. Sadly Philip went off to college and Grace was yet again forced to model.
Modeling soon lead to acting, something that probably was the only reason Grace looked forward to her daily torture. She mostly did commercials but sometimes her mother let her be an extra in a movie that her father directed. She was too young to be in any MTV shows. She began to find other forms of acting as she enrolled in Baum Academy at fourteen. Theater was her passion and a great stress reliever. She never told her mom about it knowing she would disagree. Grace dreamed of getting a major role in her school play but was always to shy to try out. She had no idea how to act at school with girls and boys her own age.
This caused Gracie to have very little friends and no boyfriends. She craved social interaction but had no idea how to talk to someone not famous or rich without offending them. Many called her a snob and brushed her off as rude. She hated it and often blamed her mom and modeling. The friends she did have were probably as social inept as she was but showed her that her family was just like anyone else’s once the fame and money disappeared. She wasn’t better than anyone else despite what her mother told her.
present
A rumor has spread around the press that Grace Adams is homosexual. This doesn’t really bother her considering she knows it’s not true. Her mother on the other hand freaks out and refuses to believe Grace over the press. She demands Grace have a boyfriend in the next month to prove the press wrong or she will be cut off. Grace wasn’t exactly sure what that meant but the huge line of incredibly fake men knocking on her family’s door every weekend was really starting to get on her nerves.
Gracie starts to think about dating and notices that she never really experienced it. Not something she was too concerned with until now. Her first quiet rebellious act was deciding that she isn’t going to date a fake guy. She wanted the real thing. Real romance even if she had no idea where to find it.
family
PARENTS AND SIBLINGS
Grace’s brother Philip Adams. He’s twenty-three and serves as the classic overprotective older brother differing in that he mostly protects Gracie from her mother’s wrath instead of teenage boys. He attends Barrie and works as a intern in a law firm.
Gracie’s mother Amy Adams has a sweet face but that’s all that’s sweet about her. She pushes Grace around and bullies her into submission. Mrs. Adams is a trophy mom and also Grace’s agent.
Grace’s father George Adams is the ever absent father of the family. Grace is closest to him as he sometimes gives her advice and calls her sweetheart. He is a film director for MTV.
likes sweet eyes and pretty faces (she is convince people’s eyes are the pathway to their soul), walking around the city, dancing, being right (as she rarely is), shopping in Times Square when it’s dark, spending time with her dad, and the Zoo!
dislikes strangers talking to her, tight spaces, her eyes, not knowing what to do, yelling, people without fashion sense, and little kids crying.
other notesGrace has never experienced love and refuses to “fake it” for the cameras.
