Xander isn't your average rich kid. Yeah, he's got that cocky attitude and basically acts like everything comes easy to him, but otherwise he doesn't really act like the spoiled brat you would characterize a person of that financial standard as. Honestly, he never talks to his parents, like ever, so it doesn't even matter to him that he has money. Deep down, he really just wants someone to love him, ya know? All that mushy stuff he tends to stay away from on the exterior. So instead, he rebels, disregarding whatever rules are thrust upon him. Because if they don't really care about him, why shouild he follow the rules they set "because they care"?

Having been raised by various house maids and servants and such who barely spoke English, he's not exactly the overacheiver academic-wise. In fact, he really could care less about school in general, it's just that he's forced to. Though that doesn't stop him from skipping just enough to where he doesn't have to make up credits or whatever or neglecting just enough homework to not fail his classes. Due to the success of this plan and other 'clever ideas', he's a bit cocky and pretty much believes he's right all the time. Even when he changes his mind, he was right.

As was implied, Xander is very irresponsible. He doesn't turn his work in on time, he turns his homework in a day late, and he frequently loses things that people let him borrow. He also tends to blame other people for his mistakes, since he is always right and is extremely stubborn.

Xander does not set things in stone. Ever. Anything you could possibly think of is subject to change with him. His favorite food, his sexuality, his clothes for crying out loud. This makes it a bit frustrating to hang out with him, but eventually you can get used to his constant transformations.

Though the way I described him so far doesn't sound very nice, he acts a bit silly around the people he likes. The people he likes are people like him, rebellious, carefree misfits. Normal people, or people who try to be, make him go crazy. Anything being the same for too long makes him go crazy.

Yeah, everybody has secrets, and Xander's happens to be his nerdy interior. He loves chemistry, for one. It's one class he actually likes, as much as he'd never admit it to anyone ever. He also plays a ton of video games, which isn't really nerdy, but considering he normally favors old-fashioned video games, it can deem him a nerd and he would never show that to anyone ever.

past When Brianna Byrne married Alfonso Sykes, it wasn't for love. No, that was the last thing on their minds when they said their 'I do's. To be honest, the love came much, much later, after their little Alexander was about 10. The whole thing was arranged as a business merging. Both of them were children of rich CEOs who wanted a set bond to bring their companies together. The fate of their merging rested on their shoulders. It seemed that the company moved with them, if they were having a rough day together, something went wrong, and if they ever were to divorice, they would split back apart.

But back to little Alexander. From the beginning, it seemed, he was going to be a rebel. For one, as much as his parents insisted on everyone calling him Alex, he felt that Xander better suited him and refused to answer to Alex. Whenever he was asked to do something, he insisted on doing the exact opposite, no matter who asked it or what it was. This was mainly because after barely a year of 'staying home from work', his parents pretty much left him to be taken care of by the maid service, and he wasn't too happy about that. So that continued unti he started going to school, then he pretty much spent his time in the principal's office.

Once middle school started, though, he started getting into some real trouble. Little classroom pranks turned into drugs, and he went to juvie once for about three months. After that, he was a bit more careful about where he smoked/hid it, but it didn't really stop. All the while, his intentions were only getting his parents to notice him. And what did they say?

"We are very disappointed in you."

But that wasn't all.

"You know we are very busy at work, so you really shouldn't be wasting our time with your unruly behavior. Now we have to go back to work. Love you." -click-

Xander had wondered how much easier it was to lie on the phone than to someone's face. But later, he understood it, because when they came home from the rather long business trip they were on, Xander found out he was going to have a baby sister.


present Alannah Marie Sykes, dubbed "Nahnie" by Xander herself, was born the before Xander started 8th grade. Xander totally loved her from the start, since now he had someone else that would bear the negelection with him. As soon as their parents left yet again, he started taking care of her. Which meant he stopped doing drugs (at home), and started being the good big brother. Well, good in a horrible-influence sort of way. He didn't exactly mean to cuss in front of her, or tell her about certain shows that were not Blues Clues, or any of that, but he did. Nahnie is turning out to be a bit of a rebel herself, but Xander is starting to become a bit protective when he can.

He currently lives at the Baum dorms, but visits home like every day for a few hours to hang with his sister. Sometimes he even brings her back to his dorm to hang out fter he picks her up from preschool, just to get her away from that stupid parent-less house and shows her the wonders of high school. Of course, he keeps her away from the drugs and other things that are 'not cool' about high school, but you know. He still kind of tells her because she's a curious child and she'll threaten to say bad words if he doesn't tell her what everyone's hiding from her.

backstory Mombi, aka the Wicked Witch of the North, is rather important in the history of Oz. She once ruled the Gillikin Country until the Good Witch of the North overthrew her. She also enslaved Ozma's father and grandfather, removing them from power and allowing the Wicked Witches to take power. During this time, she transformed Princess Ozma into a boy named Tip in order to hide her. She joined forces with Jinjur, who had made herself Queen of Oz at one point. Eventually, even after evasion attempts, Glinda caught up with her and stripped he of all her powers. Despite her enchantment and gender-switching, Tip aka Ozma promised to provide for Mombi in old age, because Ozma is just that kind of a ruler.
