The only thing Melody regretted about the night before was that she made the drinks too strong. Though how else was she going to convince her manager and the bartender to join her in the back room of the Sahara that night. Business was deadly slow on a Sunday night with everyone preparing for work the next day. She had an itch for some yummy tan an, blonde boys and she wasn’t going to have a silly thing like awkwardness ruin her chance to make a sandwich.
Though she paid the price for it in the end waking up with a hangover bestowed upon her by the lovely Jack Daniel’s. Somehow she managed to slip out of the bed and quietly dress to take the poorly named, Walk of Shame. What she left behind sure was going to start talk in the club. Two shockingly handsome men lying next to each other naked in bed. Wasn’t that a site to see? Melody chuckled to herself but soon stopped when it seemed to increase her headache. Dammit, that hurt. Melody paused in the street looking around for a place to stop. She wasn’t going to make it to her apartment without something to drink and a handful of headache reliever.
Oh look! It was that quaint shop at the corner of the block she always passed by. Melody felt bad for not visiting in a better state of dress. She was wearing last night’s clothes and some lovely sex hair. Though that seemed to be the style in today’s pop fashion wasn’t it? The bell clanged as she opened the door making her wince a bit before walking further to a table for two. Melody plopped her bag onto the empty seat and relaxed in the other one. She let her mind wander looking at the menu. Tea and a biscuit sounded wonderful to her blurred mind and queasy stomach.
The smell of the shop was calming. Melody took a deep breath and looked around for a waiter or something. The place was pretty empty for a Monday morning. Though when Melody looked at a pink clock on the wall, she realized it was nearly lunch time. “Where did the time go?” she wondered out loud. Sleeping in was only proper for late night shifts at Sahara not a little fun after work. She’d have to get some caffeine and start the day with haste. She had a class in a few hours after all. outfit: work clothes

Lydnee could breathe again.
The breakfast shift was over and they had just finished restocking for the remainder of the day. The café was experiencing the quiet few hours between breakfast and lunch. Lyndee didn’t mind. Normally, she would find it terribly boring. She didn’t mind this time around. She was perfectly alright with sitting down and resting. Unfortunately, she was sitting down and resting… and working; somebody had to go over the morning sales. It wasn’t really that,. She just would have much preferred to be sitting down with a customer, chatting over a cup of tea and some biscuits.
That was why she leapt out of her seat when the little bell rang, notifying her of a customer. Lyndee was from her office to the front counter in record time. Nothing could make her move more quickly than getting away from actual work. The first thing Lyndee noticed, as usual, was that the woman was alone. Lyndee tended to prefer couples, mostly because then she could interrogate both of them, make sure they were on the same page with their relationship, etc etc. However, people who were alone could be just as fun. She really did enjoy wondering why they weren’t with a handsome man or a lovely lady. Seeing this woman alone surprised her. She was very pretty, though her hair was wild and her clothes looked as if they had been worn in before.
It wasn’t her job to judge, though. Lyndee had never particularly cared how people were dressed when they came into her café. She just followed the ‘no shirt, no shoes, no service’ policy. Simple as that. It was her job to serve her customers and that was exactly what she’d do. Lyndee started up a new brew, making sure to set a timer just in case she got too invested in this woman’s love life, and then stepped out through the door. “Morning!
” Lyndee said, taking note that it wasn’t quite afternoon yet. Sitting down across from the woman (Lyndee certainly noticed that she’d sat at a table for two and she wondered if she was expecting anybody to join her).
So it should have been no surprised that her next question was, “Is anybody joining you? Lyndee could only hope the woman wouldn’t be offended. Lyndee almost always recognized her customers and she’d never seen this woman before. That she was so familiar with some of the regulars had begun to make her think that nobody ever minded such personal questions from a stranger. Then again, everybody should have known by now that if you come to Pipin’ Hot Tea, you will be interviewed by the owner. notes: i'll put an outfit up later, but her wig today is bright pink and curly :3 [/blockquote][/blockquote]

“Morning!”
Oh, ouch. A loud voice. She winced slightly but said nothing. Melody looked up to see the cutest thing she’d seen all morning. (And she’d passed one of those tiny york dogs things when she left work. ) This woman was wearing a bright pink wig (hopefully it wasn’t her real hair) and dressed in the most adorable get up. Suddenly, Melody smiled glad that she’d finally stopped by. “Hello,” she said in as best as a sing song voice as she could. Albeit she played the flute and wasn’t much of a singer in her opinion. The woman didn’t seem to mind and sat down right across from her. Melody raised her eyebrows a bit at the woman’s friendliness. Was she going to get tea and a show? That was more than she bargained for this morning.
“Is anybody joining you?”
“Oh no, hun. Not this morning,” she said pulling a hand through her hair. “Though I’m always open for someone too,” Melody added with a grin. Was she flirting with this woman? Of course. Even in a sluggish state, flirtatious was Melody’s default tone. Though it probably didn’t sound as good as it would’ve if she was awake. Maybe it was still too early for this. “I need some tea that will help me with this God awful hangover,” she said frowning. She reached into her bag and pulled out her glasses placing them precariously on the bridge of her nose before looking at the menu. She wore her glasses as much as she wore clothing but her eyes just denied contacts in this state. Ugh. “What would you suggest miss?” she asked with a sweet smile. Her gaze swept quickly over the menu and she licked her lips at all the choices. Perhaps she could get a pastry also. Well, if her recovering body would allow it. She kind of wanted a reason to stick around anyway. Something told her this woman would be fun to talk to.

That the woman had greeted her with a sing song tone was encouraging. That at least meant that she was awake and in a good enough mood for company. While Lyndee was happy to sit with the woman during her stay, she would have much preferred to grab the next male customer to walk in and sit him down with her instead. It surely wasn’t right of her to immediately assume this woman was heterosexual, but until she knew with certainty which team she swung for, she’d have to go with her gut. “Is there anything I can get started for you?” Her employees were either on break, cleaning, or prepping the next brew of tea/batch of pastries.
She seemed a little disappointed to hear the woman would be dining alone. Still, that gave her all the more reason to help set her up with somebody else. Nobody should ever have to have a meal alone. A lot of times, when Lyndee saw an older person eating alone, she’d ask to join them. A lot of times, they were happy to have her. The best part had to be all the stories they told. She hoped someday she could have stories like theirs to tell. Oh!! She was open to have someone join her! Too perfect. She’d have to keep an eye that everybody came in from here on out. “Good to know.
” Let the shipping begin, spectators. “ I’m Lyndee, by the way. I own the place.” She waited patiently as the woman donned her glasses and took a look at the menu. But if she had a hangover, Lyndee knew already exactly what she needed. It wasn’t often that she had customers come in with one, but it happened. It even happened with her employees, the younger ones that had decided partying the night before was a good idea. She didn’t mind it so much as long as they were on time. “ I know just the thing!” Lyndee jumped up and left for the kitchen, going for the pot of green tea she’d put on about an hour ago. She let it sit on the fire a couple minutes longer while she grabbed a few extra things. When it was all set, she returned and placed it down for the woman. “ Green tea. It works wonders. And honey. It’s better than sugar in cases like this.” She twiddled her thumbs, thinking of what else might help. “ I’ve heard ginger is a miracle worker as well. I can make a pot, if you’d like.” One of the things she loved so much about this job was helping people. “ But if there’s something else you’d like, please let me know.” [/blockquote][/blockquote]
