...personal*
personalitycleo is perhaps the biggest flirt in all of new york city. she hits on most men, taken or single. here’s the thing, though, that most don’t seem to understand. cleo flirts for the fun of it. she usually has no intention to continue anything, to steal anybody, or to break any hearts. she has never been in a serious relationship. cleo is not a slut or a whore or any other of those names you’ve heard about her. she likes to have fun and that’s that.
cleo holds a grudge. she forgives, but she doesn’t forget. a prime example would be the seven-year cold shoulder for her mother and grandfather. you could also ask any girl who has ever tried to be anything but friendly to cleo. she doesn’t fight back and if she does, it’s with words. she has a sharp tongue and knows just want to say to depress some catty bitch. other than the grudge thing and the spot-on insults, cleo is a friendly girl. . . to those that don’t start with her.
cleo, as previously stated, is very friendly. she’s confident, independent and sweet. speaking of sweet, anybody who gives her some sort of candy or pastry is immediately her “best friend for life and, like, ever after” and she plans to keep them around. it’s not a mooching sort of thing. cleo stands up for her friends and helps those in need. she works just as hard in a friendship as the other does. her self-esteem is very high and just about nothing gets to her.
pastcleo grew up as quite a spoiled child. living with her mother and grandfather, the girl was pampered as she was an only child and, as her mother put it, "such a darling girl." cleo loved this very much and, with a bat of her eyelashes, would receive what ever it was she wanted. at the age of six, the girl had a cell phone and, by seven, her own laptop. she didn't have to go to school, instead being taught at home by various tutors. sunny los angeles was a beautiful place, all palm trees and ocean and beaches. cleo, living in a spectacular beach house with her mother and grandfather, spent the majority of her time swimming. it was her favorite pastime, all the time, no matter the weather. cleo was scolded often for going out on a stormy day or taking a dip in freezing temperatures. that never stopped her, though. cleo went to the beach everyday, donning her favorite bikini, flirting with boys and tanning endlessly. she was a common californian, some would say. a spoiled beach-and-shopping-obsessed flirt.
cleo wasn’t quite sure why they moved to new york but she certainly hated it. new york was disgusting; it was humid and filthy and the worst place in the universe. cleo was devastated, she threw temper tantrums and was surprised when her mother and grandfather didn’t give in. so, she simply resorted to the cold shoulder, ignoring them. she demanded that she be allowed to attend franklin baum academy, insisting that she’d rather go to school than be stuck at home with them. it was mean, sure, and immature, of course, but cleo didn’t give a damn. she was bitter. cleo went about finding nearby swimming pools and found a few. it wasn’t the same, but it was better than nothing. high school was a new experience. demanding, stressful, dramatic and so exhilarating. cleo made quite a few enemies, mostly girls, and was called quite a few mean names. this did nothing to hurt her self-esteem, though. cleo was very confident, very sure of herself, and though she was hated, the girl still had plenty of friends. it was the best four years of her life.
she graduated with good grades, great friends, and amazing memories. cleo spent a year just milling about, working odd jobs, swimming, and staying out of the house. her grandfather made clocks, you see, and cleo absolutely loathed them. the constant ticking, the random sounds every hour, the stupid designs. they’d always driven her insane. so, cleo found things to do. working (which she hated), swimming (loved), volunteering (which wasn’t to bad), and flirting (loved). entering college a year later was strange; it was difficult falling back into the routine of school. cleo loved it, though. parties, boys, more parties. cleo wasn’t well-liked here, either, but she had a plentiful group of friends that she loved dearly. her junior year in college, cleo made up with her mother and grandfather. yes, cleo is quite talented at holding grudges. forgiving but not forgetting is something she’s very good at.
presentnow in her junior year of college, cleo is excited to be getting out soon. school is tiring and includes working which she very much dislikes. her classes are to long, she doesn’t like sitting, and she hates being yelled at for accidentally falling asleep or talking during a lecture. professors dislike her just about as much as most girls with boyfriends. yes, she still continues with her shameless flirting and she sees no problem with it. cleo doesn’t really want to steal anybody. “if your boy dumps you, you were probably to much of a clingy brat” is something cleo is known for saying.
from her random jobs, cleo is quite well-supplied with her money. she’ll still leech off of her mother and grandfather if need be, but she feels more independent then she used too. now that the three of them are friendly again, cleo visits home all the time and they often go out for family outings. the clocks bother her just as much as they always have so she honestly tries to get them out of the house as soon as possible. cleo swims more than she does anything else, though she’s getting tired of itty bitty pools. her money will go to a lovely home on the beach, back in los angeles, when the time comes.
