So. I'm part of another forum, a Harry Potter one, and I posted an absence thread saying that I was going on a hiatus because I just wasn't getting muse for my characters. And I received this message:
So, this PM is in regards to your absence that you posted, as you could probably tell by the PM title.
This is a notice that I absolutely HATE hiatuses. As such, I don't allow them. I discussed it with ***** and *******, and while this might not be the case with you, we all feel that going on hiatuses is just an excuse not to post on sites when you have no muse because plotting isn't going the way you want it at the moment.
So instead of calling it a Hiatus we're going to call it a trial period. I will be changing your characters to NPC characters and will be putting your plot pages and character profiles in a special sub forum in the End of the Road forum, this way you're still technically a member but also so that people don't keep trying to plot with you when they're more then likely not going to be getting responses from you. If in two months you are still not as active as you should be to maintain decent plotting with people then we're going to have to delete your accounts. Just because it's not fair to the other players.
This does not mean that posting in games will be considered activity.
I also want to take this moment to let you know that a couple of your posts (one for me and one for ******) have been less then 400 words. This is not acceptable. Our rules clearly state 400 words is our minimum, any more posts less then 400 words will also result in us having to ask you to leave.
This sounds a lot harsher then I'm intending it to be, but this site is my baby, and I'm trying to make it someplace that is very plot important. I feel like by people going on hiatuses or not posting to the rules specifications that it's really diminishing the feel I want for the site, and it will make this someplace that isn't fun for me or for the role players that I want to play with/ respect.
We'd love to keep you around, you're absolute doll. I hope that you will be able to be more active, and that your posts will be up to the level that we asked before you came aboard with us.
Thank you,
******
But anyway. I understand where they're coming from, but I feel a little hurt about the whole thing. I know for a fact that I'm not going to be at the activity they'll want at the end of two months as well, because of the fact that I posted about camp and my school's Wi-Fi to them along with the whole hiatus thing.
So, I decided that it'd be best to leave the site. I sent the admin a message back, apologizing for the word count and my activity, but also explaining that it'd be best if I just left entirely. I can't make promises for word count and activity when I know for a fact that I can't be sure they'd be kept.
Also, thanks guys for being on my side with this. Your support means a lot more than you'd realize. <3
((I starred out names for privacy, even though you guys wouldn't know them most likely.))
