"Put those here. And that there. But what do I do why this?" Victoria said talking to herself. She moved all of her stuff around in her closet trying to make room. Her chest of dresses had been delivered and she wanted to get it out of the way before her roomie asked questions.
She slid it in the corner of the closet and covered it with other boxes. She walked out and set her desk up about to do homework. As she pulled up photoshop on her computer and pulled out her camera she thought back to the dresses.
"Maybe I should make sure none of them got ripped." she thought out loud.
Convincing herself she got up and walked into her closet again. She opened the box and pulled out her favorite dress. I was a bright yellow with ruffles on the front and puffy sleeves which started at her forearm. She walked out and started twirling around and giggled as her dress followed. She looked in her vanity mirror and smiled.

Neta walked down the hallway to her new dorm, looking at each door for her number. When she found her room, Neta paused at the door, holding her bags. Why couldn't there be single rooms? Really, her roommate was probably going to be some dimwitted, senseless girl with dyed blonde hair and tattoos all over her body. Oh God, what if she really was going to be like that? She took a nervous bite of her carrot. Please, please, please God, let this be someone smart and normal! Holding the door knob, Neta closed her eyes and took a deep breath in anticipation. She opened the door.
The first thing Neta saw when she opened the door was a girl – presumably her new roommate – twirling around and laughing with a puffy yellow dress in her hands. God, this was bizarre. The giddy redhead was just looking at herself in the mirror. Why did she even have that dress? It’s a dorm for God’s sake! No need to dress up, really. Seriously, Neta wished she could have just been paired with someone normal. Why this strange, strange girl?
Neta cautiously walked into the room, placing her bags on the bed that hadn’t already been taken. She didn’t look at the girl, just tried to ignore her. Neta began unpacking her bags, trying not to pay attention to the other girl – it was kind of difficult though, as she was standing right there, with her obnoxious, acid-colored dress.

She stopped twirling and made a face. If any boy ever saw her they would die. Her reputation would shatter to little girl bits. She could hear her dad saying unimpressed "Aren't you a little old for dress up?" She some move in the mirror.
Victoria turned around and saw the girl. She cursed under her breath and walked into the closet. Oh jeez what now? She changed into her regular clothes and walked out of the closet again. Awkwardness filled the air. She quietly sat on the her bed waiting for the girl to say something. Then she realized she should probably say something. She broke the silence with an inhale. "Ummmm... Can we pretend that never happened?" she asked in a serious voice. Her nervously picked at her bed spread waiting for the girls answer. Is it possible to erase somebody's memory while there sleeping? Probably not. Actually the way the girl was looking at her there probably wouldn't be a tonight. Great first impression just spectactular.

“Ummmm…Can we pretend that never happened?”
Ha. No, of course Neta wouldn’t pretend that had never happened, but she would never actually say anything to her roommate about it. Neta let out a quick snort of laughter, but then put her hand over her mouth. Obviously this girl was embarrassed, and Neta kind of enjoyed it. But no, she had to be nice – especially because they would be living together for the next year, which Neta was absolutely ecstatic about. Not.
But at least the girl had been embarrassed, not shamefully confident like some people were. Neta would try to be nice to her. Well, not mean, at least.
“Hello, I’m Neta,” she said, taking some books out of her suitcase. Who knows, maybe Neta had the wrong impression of this girl. She really couldn’t afford to be judgmental or angry in this situation; she didn’t want to be stuck without a room to live in. Neta looked at her roommate and smiled – not a real smile, just a little one; she didn’t want to make the girl feel overly welcome. Placing her numerous books on the dresser, Neta looked at the other girl, hoping she wouldn’t feel too comfortable around her and revert back to her obnoxious-dress-wearing state.

Oh jeez. Oh jeezohjeezohjeez. What to do now? She continued to set all of her stuff out on the tables. She walked into her closet and shut the chest quietly and put a pile of clothes on top of it. How could she be so stupid? Should she say something? No. That could just make it worse. She walked out of the closet and saw the girl was unpacking.
"Nice...to meet you." she moved some of her stuff from the new girl sides and put it on top of her desk. "Sorry about the space issue I didn't think you were coming until tonight."
She began to move all of her stuff very quickly and quietly. She had to get out of there before she turned bright red and went into a corner to die. She just hoped the girl wasn't the chatty type. It was a little early for anyone to know about her secret. Who would take her seriously about her feminist views when all they think about is her in a pretty princess dress. UGH.
She finished up and changed into a purple t-shirt and some boyfriend jeans. She stuck on her tennis shoes and grabbed her phone and her wallet and left.

Neta sighed as the girl went into the closet. Why was she so embarrassed? Well, Neta would have been too, but she at least wouldn’t have shown it. The girl could have just acted like it was perfectly normal for her to be wearing a puffy, frilly dress alone in her room. But alas, she hadn’t. Now Neta knew something about her that nobody else did…but she wouldn’t use it against her.
As her new roommate walked out of the closet in a t-shirt and jeans, Neta snickered quietly to herself. This girl was a bit strange, she thought. The girl kept her head down and walked out the door.
“Bye,” Neta said, in an attempt at friendliness, but she didn’t think that the girl heard her. It didn’t really matter to Neta whether her roommate liked her, but still, she didn’t want to be living with someone who wanted to kill her every time she closed her eyes. Neta began unpacking her clothes into her dresser – simple, normal clothes – nothing out of the ordinary like her roommate’s.
She lay down on her bed, thinking of home, but the thought of the look on her roommates face when she saw Neta just kept popping up in her head. No. She had to forget it. She mustn’t be mean. Well, maybe she could just enjoy it for a moment while her roommate was gone. Neta let out a burst of laughter, one of the first since she had come to America.
