Isaak had to get out of there. Beth was going to kill him if he stayed. He needed to think. He needed to breathe. Isaak was confused. He didn't know what was going one, but it was a mess. Beth was angry. Isaak was angry. They both needed their space.
He was running at full throttle. He knew where he wanted to be, when he wanted to think. Isaak was confused and angry. This was the first time in a while too.
At the moment, Isaak needed to go where clean water flowed. He needed that sound, and loved that sound Running water was the same thing he loved about about the creek behind his house in Vermont. He missed Vermont. And Newport. And the way things used to be.
When he arrived, Isaak brushed the snow from the concrete brink of the fountain. Sitting down, he sighed with his head in his hands. He didn't know what was going on, or why Beth was so flustered. He should have gone back, gone to apologize to Beth. But no. Isaak sat there. He wanted to mope a while before he went to face her.
But that wasn't enough. He needed something do DO. Something to keep his mind off things. Isaak began to work at the snow around the fountain. Making all sorts of shapes. The majority of the little snow things were rabbits and tea cups. He tool his time making each object look realistic. Mothers and their children looked at him like he was crazy, but Isaak was okay with that.
Soon it got to the point where his hands were numb and cold. But he still needed to keep occupied. Iaaak sat back on the edge of the fountain. This time surrounded by his own creations.

Beth wasn't angry. At least, not at Isaak. She was angry at herself, and guilty. Oh, so very guilty...
'Stupid, stupid, stupid! Whyyyyyy am I so stupid!!?' Beth thought to herself, running through the snowy streets of New York. She'd been struck dumb by the realization of her own stupidity, and simply sat in the dorm room after Isaak stormed out for a good ten minutes. So of course, by the time she yanked on a coat and ugg boots, he was long gone. But she had to find him... She just... She just HAD to make things right again!
Somehow, and she truly didn't know how, something inside of her would tell her where Isaak was. Not in words, but he would always eventually end up in her sights. As Bethany prayed that this sense would come in handy yet again, she almost ran into a tiny snow sculpture. She carefully picked up the teacup in gloved hands, then looked up to see Isaak on the edge of the fountain. She gulped and carefully stepped over the many statues. Beth cleared her throat nervously. "You're quite the artist, Iz..." she began, sitting a foot awaay from him on the fountain's edge. It really was amazing... And the water had managed not to freeze, even though the Teacup in her hands didn't show any signs of melting within twenty-four hours, even when she breathed hot air on it.
Simply watching her breath fog then disappear, Beth looked up into the sky. It was actually getting a little dark... 'I really hope I don't have to spend another night on the streets...' she thought to herself, frowning and then looking down at the teacup and turning it slowly in her hands. "I'm sorry... I knew you'd gone out with guys, yet I kept such a thing like that a secret. I don't think you would've freaked out so much if you'd known from the beginning... And I'm really really sorry," she repeated, scooting further away from Isaak guiltily. "Sorry...." she said yet again, seeming to shrink. It was obvious that she was very upset.... And she put the tescup back on the ground between herself and Isaak with the hope that she'd have somewhere to sleep that night.

"You're quite the artist, Iz..."
Isaak's head snapped up in confusion and surprise. Why was Beth here? He thought she would have kept her distance and let him break a few things before trying to talk to him. And she was complimenting him on his art no less. Isaak tried his best not to have a giggling fit. He was supposed to be mad, but that wasn't working for him at the moment.
"I'm sorry... I knew you'd gone out with guys, yet I kept such a thing like that a secret. I don't think you would've freaked out so much if you'd known from the beginning... And I'm really really sorry,"
Isaak glanced up to see a very troubled Beth. She was uncomfortable, awkward even. Isaak had never seen Beth as flustered as she was now. In fact, Isaak thought it was kind of cute.... WHAT? He couldn't think like that. She was his friend, That was that. Although, seeing Beth in a bra probably wasn't helping his current situation much.
Despite what his gut was telling him, Isaak went up and gave Beth a friendly hug. "It's okay, you don't have to leave. You don't have to be sorry either. I'm the one who got mad and stormed out. You have every right to be angry at me." Isaak was bracing himself for a slap, or maybe a kick. Either way, he was ready for Beth to be furious. It was his fault after all,not hers.

Bethany, through the inevitable awkward silence following her words, wondered what her childhood friend would do. She expected an awkward pat on the back if he wasn't mad. If he was mad, well... she basically expected hearing aids in the near future, and he most likely was mad. The last thing she expected was a hug. He. Was. HUGGING. Her. Isaak did not do these things! As soon as she felt his arms somehow force themselves to close around her, she froze. About thirty seconds later, her instincts kicked in and she turned around and hugged him back.
"It's okay, you don't have to leave. You don't have to be sorry either. I'm the one who got mad and stormed out. You have every right to be angry at me."
Beth hugged him tighter, confused. "It's not your fault! And I'm definitely not angry at you!" She said, pouting at him. ".... I forgot I was a little taller than you," she mumbled, chuckling slightly at that and releasing him from the hug figuring he might be getting uncomfortable. "First you explode on me, now being all affectionate," Beth pointed out, laughing a little. "You're a strange kid, Isaak," she informed him, smiling happily. Words like "Strange" or "Weird" were compliments to her. She knew and took full responsibility of the fact that she was a peculiar person, and expected others to as well. Of course, she couldn't help when they didn't and she ended up with a glare as a response.
Picking up another one of the statues, this time of a cute rabbit with a playing card in one hand and a cup of tea in the other. "Wow..." she breathed, turning it around. "You really are amazing, Iz," she said, noticing the sudden colder winds and the slowly disappearing sunset. Putting it down carefully, she stepped around, avoiding the statues in a sort of game, ending up by Isaak's side. Smiling up at him, she sighed to herself, enjoying the amazing silence... Until a little kid threw a snowball right past her face, landing in the fountain instead of in his opponents face. Stepping back, slightly dazed by the whole thing, her legs ran into the back of the fountain, and she desperately grabbed Isaak's arm to keep from falling in. Smiling sheepishly at her roommate, she didn't notice the other child running towards them until he shoved his way between her and Isaak, forcing her to let go and fall backwards into the fountain. It was amazing that she didn't hit her head on the bottom of the fountain, but still managed to soak herself, gasping as she sat back up. Eyes wide, she simply stared at Isaak, honestly too shocked and cold to register what had happened.

If his mood was a rocket, it would have soared. The anger he thought he had been feeling dissolved like soap under hot water. He was rather happy when she hugged back, like that meant that he was forgiven. He wanted to keep creating, to keep making little sculptures to show her. It was nice, everything was mellowed out like it should have been. Friends talking and little children flinging clumps of snow and ice.
Before his thoughts could trail too far, a small boy and his friends came whirling past in a cascade of slush. Isaak couldn't help but chuckle at the whimsical sight. It was so cute and reminded him of Beth, Himself, and his brother when they were younger, those were the days.
His laughter turned sour as he realized Beth wasn't laughing with him. Frantically he turned around, looking desperately for his friend. When Isaak couldn't see her at first his pace began to quicken. She hadn't run off had she? THAT would be bad. After all, he thought he had been forgiven. His laughter started up again when he noticed Beth in the pond.
"Are... you.. okay...?" He managed to choke the words out between fits of laughter. Reaching in to help her out, Isaak slipped. Of all the god dammed moments in the world, right then is when fate chose to shove him into the fountain. His next words were stern, but he still couldn't hold back giggles. He splashed her with freezing water for emphasis.
"Happy now?

Freezing cold and soaked through her clothes, she was brought back to reality by Isaak's laughter. "'S not funny..." she mumbled, and almost took his hand, before he fell in himself, and she couldn't help but crack up. "Okay, I see how it could be funny from the other side..." she said, finally standing in the water, only to be hit by more of the water. They were both so wet now it didn't really matter, but she splashed him back for revenge, then scooped up some snow and pelted a snowball straight at his face. Hey, things couldn't get much worse, so she might as well have fun.
She remembered a time in Newport when they'd had a major snowball-blowout on a snow day. They had only been seven or eight at the time, but it was intense... She came home looking like a walking snowman, and it took her about an hour next to the fireplace for all of the snow to completely melt. She wasn't sure how it had gone for Isaak, but she knew that she'd gotten a cold the next day, and she already felt colder now than she had that day so many years ago. Elliot had been there... Now, she remembered about him because she hit him in the mouth with a snowball and knocked out his two front teeth. She giggled as she remembered this, then shivered.
"Iz, as much as I'd love to just play around all night, and believe me, I would, we need to get our of the water or we'll get sick..." she said, expecting that to make him take off running. She stepped out of the fountain and pelted a snowball at the back of the kid who'd knocked her in before picking up one of the snow sculptures and carrying it along. "Come on, Isaak. Let's go home."
