Seth jumped to his feet and Guillermo nearly went into a defensive mode out of surprise. Seth ventured to the fridge then to the cupboards, returning to the table and setting up shot glasses side-by-side. "Ask and you shall receive, my friend. I'm thinking: We're both kind of boned in the realms of love, might as well get shitfaced." "Sounds like fun." Seth poured five shots of tequila, sliding them to Guillermo, before pouring his own. Guillermo grinned at Seth. A real, genuine smile. The other young man sat down, raising his glass grinning. "Cheers. To Rose." Seth downed the alcohol quickly, stacking his cups steadily as he finished each drink. Guillermo raised his own shot in response and swallowed the fiery liquid without even blinking. He then proceeded to down the rest of his shots, one right after the other, his face merely breaking into a smirk at Seth's face. "You're alright, you know that? Like, I wasn't kidding that I'd think you were awesome. Like, you should hate me. I was... kind of...an asshole when we met. And you did only invite me here so that I wouldn't be living with Rose... But I'm glad you did. That thing with leaving empty milk jugs in the fridge... Drives me fucking crazy." "Oddly enough, I don't hate you. I mean, sure, you're trying to take the girl I love and vice-versa, but if not for that.." He grinned, his mood light from the joking and alcohol. "Of course, I don't expect us to be bosom buddies. Besides, living with a guy is much simpler than living with a girl. Take that peanut butter and jelly thing. What the hell is that about?"

DOWN DOWN IN AN EARLIER ROUND S U G A R WE'RE GOING DOWN SWINGING - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - "Oddly enough, I don't hate you. I mean, sure, you're trying to take the girl I love and vice-versa, but if not for that.." Seth nodded, grinning a little. He was definitely for that, but Guillermo had a strangely likable quality. "Of course, I don't expect us to be bosom buddies. Besides, living with a guy is much simpler than living with a girl. Take that peanut butter and jelly thing. What the hell is that about?"
Taking another shot, he snorted at the mention of the peanut butter and jelly thing, the tequila filling his nose. It burned like fire, but he couldn't stop laughing, nodding in understanding. "I know, right? She's insane about it. Look at this-" Seth held out his hand, where four dots were scared into the top of it. "Stabbed me with a fork! Swear to god, I was minding my own business, making a sandwich, suddenly, I have a fork sticking out of my hand as she's casually fucking passing me a knife." Downing the last of his shots, he sighed, feeling comfortable. "And the shit she eats? Cheese on blue berry pie or pancake batter with oreos...." He shrugged baffled by this.
"We are going to need more of this..." He muttered, rising from his seat, and doing a light jog to his room. From his closet, he pulled out a handle of whiskey. He grinned at it merrily, grabbing a few pictures off his wall. He returned, setting the galleon on the table. "You might be more of a tequila man, but I love me some good Irish whiskey." Seth chuckled, sliding the pictures to him.
One was of him and Rose in their old baseball jerseys, eating hotdogs. Another was of them with No-Good and Stinky, the former being what could only be described as a Wangster (white gangster), and the latter being a greasy little bit, all four around the age of thirteen standing outside a corner store. The third was of her, nine, covered in grease, with a torn apart motor sitting in front of her. "Told you she had chicken legs." He laughed, refilling his glasses with whiskey, speaking with a bit of pride.
He and Rose did have memories. Good memories. He only wished he hadn't of stolen that stupid car, and got locked up. "But you know... for all her fucking quirks-" Seth laughed deeply. "And there are many, I know. But despite all of them, there's something about her." He tried to pin it down. "Like... damn. That smirk she does. You ever really look at it? It's like she's plotting something amazingly terrible... or amazingly terrible. You never really know with her." He considered this for a second, grinning wistfully, downing another shot.

Seth choked, spluttering and laughing in agreement. "I know, right? She's insane about it. Look at this-" Seth held out his hand, where four dots were scared into the top of it. "Stabbed me with a fork! Swear to god, I was minding my own business, making a sandwich, suddenly, I have a fork sticking out of my hand as she's casually fucking passing me a knife." Guillermo looked suitably shocked at Seth's horror story. Guillermo grabbed the whole tequila bottle, taking a swig. "And the shit she eats? Cheese on blue berry pie or pancake batter with oreos...." Guillermo's eyebrows went up at this, nodding furiously. He almost wanted to tell Seth about what ensued from the peanut butter and jelly incident, but decided he didn't want to fight again tonight. Seth was happier than Guillermo had seen him in a while. "We are going to need more of this..." Seth muttered, rising from his seat, and doing a light jog to his room. He returned, setting whiskey on the table. "You might be more of a tequila man, but I love me some good Irish whiskey." Seth chuckled, sliding some photographs to him. One was of him and Rose in their old baseball jerseys, eating hotdogs. Another was of them with two other kids, all four around the age of thirteen standing outside a corner store. The third was of Rose at a young age nine, covered in grease, with a torn apart motor sitting in front of her. "Told you she had chicken legs," laughed Seth, refilling his glasses with whiskey, speaking with a bit of pride. "But you know... for all her fucking quirks- And there are many, I know. But despite all of them, there's something about her." Guillermo gave a confirming huff, taking a drink from the bottle again, starting to feel a light buzz. He really should have eaten something. "Like... damn. That smirk she does. You ever really look at it? It's like she's plotting something amazingly terrible... or amazingly terrible. You never really know with her." He grinned hugely, his mind returning to the day that Rose had first met him and used her wiles to bed him within 2 hours of knowing each other. She was a minx. A succubus. And he loved every second of it. "Her pout always gets to me. She's so cute pouting because it doesn't even reach her eyes. There's always that mischievous look."

DOWN DOWN IN AN EARLIER ROUND S U G A R WE'RE GOING DOWN SWINGING - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - "Her pout always gets to me. She's so cute pouting because it doesn't even reach her eyes. There's always that mischievous look." Seth nodded, starting to feel the booze course through him as another shot was gone.
"Fuck my life, those eyes. Blue pits of seduction and doom. Hell, I was a sucker, before I even knew what love was." Seth chuckled, spinning his shot glass around. "And she always knows how to work it. You can just tell when she wants something, because she goes from being 'Whatever' to cute and bubbly. Evil." He eyed Guillermo closely, trying to figure out where he stood with him. His willingness to be his friend was nice. Humble even. The fact that he was even bothering, when they could have gone on ignoring each other, was nice. He was likable. But this could complicate things. He didn't want to be ready to make his go on Rose, and be held back by some self fulfilling bro code bullshit.
"Be straight with me man." Seth said softly, taking another shot. "How long do you think you'll hold out? I mean, I can't imagine being in you position. You get some of her, and I wasn't kidding when I said I'd kill to be in your shoes-" Seth downed another shot, needing it's loosening effects. "-but... what happens... five years down the road and nothings changed. What happens when she starts seeing other guys, I mean other than you." Seeing Guillermo drink from his bottle, Seth shrugged, grabbing his as well. "I mean, to hear her talk, you're not too keen on dating. So... " At this point, Seth wasn't even sure where he was going with this. "Nah, you know what. Forget it. You do you, man, and I'll do me. And fuck it, how it turns out is how it turns out." It was a great comfort, a guilty comfort, that Guillermo had little hope in his standings with Rose. It sort of made him not feel so alone.
With another large gulp, he felt the buzz hit him like a train, the breaking point between the buzz and actual drunkenness. "You ever think, you know, that your close. Sometimes I feel like... Aw, shit I sound like a bitch..." He laughed at himself. "But sometimes I feel like, you know, I actually stand a chance. A look, or a weird action. Randomly hold my hand or some shit. It's like that fucker in Greek Mythology who was in hell and had food just out of his reach. I dunno his name." Time for more drink.

"Fuck my life, those eyes. Blue pits of seduction and doom. Hell, I was a sucker, before I even knew what love was." Guillermo nodded in resigned agreement to this fact. "I used to think love wasn't real. I even told her that when we first met. And look what she's done to me!" he chuckled to show he was joking, "21 years old and rooming with a little shit of a teenager, next door to the girl we both love, pining away like fools." "And she always knows how to work it. You can just tell when she wants something, because she goes from being 'Whatever' to cute and bubbly. Evil." He grinned, "That girl is something else." "Be straight with me man." Seth said softly, taking another shot. "How long do you think you'll hold out? I mean, I can't imagine being in you position. You get some of her, and I wasn't kidding when I said I'd kill to be in your shoes but... what happens... five years down the road and nothings changed. What happens when she starts seeing other guys, I mean other than you." He burned with jealousy at the idea. Seth also took a swig from his bottle, staring at him seriously. "I mean, to hear her talk, you're not too keen on dating. So... Nah, you know what. Forget it. You do you, man, and I'll do me. And fuck it, how it turns out is how it turns out." Guillermo smiled his agreement. It was surprisingly easy to be friendly with Seth. He took a few large gulps from his bottle, enjoying the numbing fire. "You ever think, you know, that your close. Sometimes I feel like... Aw, shit I sound like a bitch... But sometimes I feel like, you know, I actually stand a chance. A look, or a weird action. Randomly hold my hand or some shit. It's like that fucker in Greek Mythology who was in hell and had food just out of his reach. I dunno his name." He rolled his eyes, groaning. "I know! She'll just give me looks or even do something, then she instantly fucks it up by saying something she KNOWS will make me mad."

DOWN DOWN IN AN EARLIER ROUND S U G A R WE'RE GOING DOWN SWINGING - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - "I know! She'll just give me looks or even do something, then she instantly fucks it up by saying something she KNOWS will make me mad." Seth nodded, his face empathetic.
Shit, they really were in the same boat. "You know what one I hate the most?" Seth spoke softly, taking another drink of his bottle, before sitting up to mimic Rose's poise. "'Well, it's not really any of your business, now is it?'" His voice had the pins and needles edge that Rose got when she felt her privacy was being invaded. "And you know, the most fucked up thing is, the shit that's none of my business... she fucking brings up. Like I'm suppose to be tickled by the idea of her spending her whole check on fucking shoes, or what she does with who, or whatever. The moment you show any concern she turtles up into Bitchy Bitchface McGee, and nothing you say after that makes it better. At least until she decides she's done." Seth took another thoughtful drink. "I, of course, say with all of the fondness in the world."
He chuckled. What was it about her that drove guys crazy? "You know, I'd say that loving Rose can only be done by just giving her your whole heart... in all actuality, you sacrifice a organ that's a bit lower." He laughed, waggling his eyebrows slightly, standing up. "And we put up with the sacrifice, because dammit, she's smells like beautiful."
He wanted to do something. Damn him for having had cleaned the whole house already. He looked around, and gathered the empty beer bottles, putting them in the recycling. Then a smile appeared on his face. "You know... what should happen right now?" He chuckled, taking a heavy gulp of his liquor. "You should punch me as hard as you can. Right now." Liking this idea, he moved the table out of the way, to give Guillermo some room.

"You know, I'd say that loving Rose can only be done by just giving her your whole heart... in all actuality, you sacrifice a organ that's a bit lower." He laughed, waggling his eyebrows, and Guillermo laughed along with him. It felt good to be on the same side as Seth. "And we put up with the sacrifice, because dammit, she's smells like beautiful." Guillermo closed his eyes, half in irritation and half in agreement of Seth's words. Seth glared around for a moment, looking bored, then smiled. "You know... what should happen right now?" He chuckled, taking a heavy gulp of his liquor. "You should punch me as hard as you can. Right now." He then shoved the table out of the way. Guillermo's dark brow furrowed. "What? No, what are you talking about, man?" Was he shitfaced already?

DOWN DOWN IN AN EARLIER ROUND S U G A R WE'RE GOING DOWN SWINGING - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - "What? No, what are you talking about, man?" Seth smirked at the shock factor, setting his bottle in one of the chairs, clapping his hands together.
"Hear me out." Seth put on his logical voice, despite the ridiculousness of the whole conversation. "What are we suppose to do all night? Piss and moan about Rose? I'm thinking, no. Now, she says you've been in a fight or two... what did she call you..." Seth focused for a moment, thinking past the buzz. "Scrappy Doo." He said suddenly, grinning. "So, I want to see what you got, and I think we're at the perfect spot." Seth pulled his pajama pants up a bit, make sure that his feet wouldn't tread on them, his grin thick on his face. "We've drunk enough that this idea doesn't seem completely ridiculous. And we're not so far gone that if someone really gets hurt, we can't do something about it." He shrugged, bracing himself for the strike.
"C'mon man. I want to see what you've got. Don't be such a fucking puss. Get up here and hit me." Seth was becoming a little impatient, bouncing a little. He hadn't been hit in the face in a while. This actually sounded like the most amazing idea in the world to Seth.

Guillermo stared, bewildered as Seth smirked at him setting down his bottle. "Hear me out. What are we suppose to do all night? Piss and moan about Rose? I'm thinking, no. Now, she says you've been in a fight or two... what did she call you..." Seth frowned, trying to remember. "Scrappy Doo. So, I want to see what you got, and I think we're at the perfect spot." Seth was grinning widely. "We've drunk enough that this idea doesn't seem completely ridiculous. And we're not so far gone that if someone really gets hurt, we can't do something about it." Guillermo didn't know what to say or do. He didn't want to hit Seth, honestly. "C'mon man. I want to see what you've got. Don't be such a fucking puss. Get up here and hit me." He sounded impatient, and Guillermo sighed, getting up from his chair. "Whatever man. I wonder about you sometimes." He sighed again, then sent a weak punch at Seth's gut, the fist just bouncing lightly off of his torso. He barely even felt the blow that he gave.

DOWN DOWN IN AN EARLIER ROUND S U G A R WE'RE GOING DOWN SWINGING - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Guillermo seemed perplexed by the request, but sat up in concession, sighing a little. "Whatever man. I wonder about you sometimes." Seth readied himself, giving only a small noise as Guillermo's fist bounced off from his gut. What the hell?
So that's how it was? Seth gave a look twisted with inquiry and irritation, as if to ask if Guillermo was serious. So he'd have to get mad then? Fine, that sat just fine with Seth. "No, no, no. Not like that. C'mon, hit me like a fucking man." Balling up his fist, Seth grabbed Guillermo by the shoulder and let it swing hard into his gut. It felt good. Like it was something he was keeping locked away for a few weeks. Mostly because he was.
He backed off to let Guillermo recover, taking another drink of whiskey. He didn't want to get too mean, but dammit, they were doing this. Seth decided. Putting the bottle down, he put his hands behind his back, bracing himself. "Now hit me like you mean it." Seth ordered, grinning. "Hell, picture me with Rose, if you have too. Just fucking do it with some conviction."

Seth stared at him incredulously. "No, no, no. Not like that. C'mon, hit me like a fucking man." He wound up, holding Guillermo's shoulder and slammed his fist into his stomach. Guillermo coughed, momentarily winded, sending Seth a glare. Seth took another swig of whiskey, then seemed to ready himself. "Now hit me like you mean it," Seth ordered, grinning. "Hell, picture me with Rose, if you have too. Just fucking do it with some conviction." Now there was some motivation. He thought back to the night he first met Seth, with the suggestively glinting eyes and jabs at who he was. He imagined finding Rose with Seth. It wasn't hard to picture. Guillermo snarled, sending a swift punch into Seth's gut before twisting his other fist upwards and into Seth's jaw, making a sickly thud. He suddenly grinned widely. This made him feel loads better.

DOWN DOWN IN AN EARLIER ROUND S U G A R WE'RE GOING DOWN SWINGING - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - At Seth's suggested motivation, Guillermo seemed to get a glint in his eye, and with a snarl he felt a real punch get delivered right into his gut. Sucking in air as it hit, he dug into his hair, trying to stay standing as the wind was knocked out of him. Of course this plan seemed to stopped, when he felt a a fist collide with his jaw. Luckily, he didn't fall to the floor, more just stumbled back to the wall, recovering.
As the ability to read returned to him, Seth started to laugh. "Holy shit. Guess I should have pushed that button right off the bat." Seth straighten up, cracking his knuckles and his neck. "You ready?" He asked, a little giddy, putting his fist up. He threw one, letting it stop right at Guillermo face, pulling it back and laughing at the psyche. Then, speed of a puma in force, he let go of a punch, feeling it collide with Guillermo's nose straight on. He followed it up with an uppercut, swinging up to Guillermo's jaw.
Somehow they would explain this away to Rose tomorrow. But right now, fuck it, they were bonding. Maybe they would be straight honest with her. They felt like beating the shit out of each other. "Just say when you've had enough man. I could do this all night." Seth asked, enjoying the pain in his still sore jaw.

Seth began to chuckle as he recovered. "Holy shit. Guess I should have pushed that button right off the bat." Seth straighten up, cracking his knuckles and his neck. "You ready?" He threw a swift punch, but didn't hit him. He then threw a real punch, connecting with Guillermo's nose. He smelled the iron before he felt the blood dripping down and before he'd gotten a chance to register it, Seth had hit him from underneath his jaw. Guillermo stumbled back in surprise, his teeth clacking together loudly. "Just say when you've had enough man. I could do this all night." Seth looked excited and Guillermo couldn't help but shake his head and laugh. "I've fought gangs in Mexico, dude. I HAVE done this all night." He swung his fist into Seth's face in a haymaker and delivered a sharp jab into his chest. Guillermo bounced on the balls of his feet, thoroughly enjoying this, holding up his hands, sending two swift hits into Seth's stomach.

DOWN DOWN IN AN EARLIER ROUND S U G A R WE'RE GOING DOWN SWINGING - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - "I've fought gangs in Mexico, dude. I HAVE done this all night." Seth heard Guillermo say before a fist bashed into him, making his hearing get a little fuzzy. Ouch. Not that he had time to dwell on it, as another couple jabs hit his gut and chests. Stumbling backwards, Seth fell into a chair, feeling it fold beneath him in a painful crunch. His laughter echoed through the apartment, as he spit out some blood, looking up at Guillermo. He took pride in the red waterfall emitting from Guillermo's nose.
"Nice one." Seth encouraged, pulling himself out of the newly formed wood pile. Guillermo had speed and stamina, and was able to pin point where his strength needed to go. Seth, on the other hand, was brute strength, and had the benefit of being able to take a wicked beating. Seth caught his breath, hands on his knees, grinning. "I don't think the chair will make it, Man..." Seth laughed thickly, nodding at it.
Ready and back on the ball, Seth charged forward, landing two heavy punches into Guillermo's gut, following it up with a sharp elbow in the face.
Violence. There was a beauty to it.
Seth backed off a minute, looking at Guillermo, his breath sped up. Fucking pretty bastard. Seth imagined him with Rose, kissing her, holding her after... It didn't take him long before Seth was ready to go again. "And one things those gangs in Mexico didn't have-" Seth spoke cockily, throwing a hard punch right into Guillermo's jaw before shrugging. "-was me." He grinned, quite pleased with how tonight was going.

Seth fell into a chair, and it splintered. He merely laughed as he spit out some blood, looking up at Guillermo. "Nice one." Seth said, heaving himself up. "I don't think the chair will make it, Man..." Seth laughed thickly, nodding at it. Guillermo nodded, but smiled all the same. Eh, who cared? It was just a chair. Seth suddenly lunged at him, landing two heavy punches into Guillermo's gut, following it up with a sharp elbow in the face. He fought for air as he got monologued. "And one things those gangs in Mexico didn't have-" Seth spoke cockily, throwing a hard punch right into Guillermo's jaw before shrugging. "-was me." Guillermo recovered pretty well. He had learned that the best way to cope with the pain was to just get right back into the game. The adrenaline pushed it for a while until both parties collapsed with exhaustion. He put the back of his arm against Seth's back, knocking his legs out hard from underneath him. He then stood over Seth, punching him in the face several times before feeling satisfied. Giving Seth a dead leg for good measure, he smirked. "They may not have had you, but they DID have me." As odd as it was, he actually took pride in "Diablo" or "Diablillo" his gang nickname from back in El Paso. He hadn't gotten much use from it when he moved to Illinois, but when he turned eighteen, he got his own place back in El Paso and fucked shit up with his gang buddies.
